Walkway Pedestrian Lights at Flamingo Park
Advisory shared on Monday, Dec. 8, 2025

WHAT'S HAPPENING

The City of Miami Beach Flamingo Park Softball Field project is under construction. The project includes improved lighting and walkways throughout the park.

In October, the contractor did underground conduit and electrical work to prepare for installing the new lights. Beginning Wednesday, Dec. 10, the contractor is planning to close parts of the walkway median to install new pedestrian lights. Work will occur throughout December, in sections, as depicted on the map herein.

As part of these efforts, a temporary ADA walkway was installed for access to the Pickle Ball courts and Racquet Ball Facility. Temporary fencing will be installed at each section for protection as the work progresses.

PROJECT OVERVIEW

The general scope of work for the Flamingo Park Softball Field project includes enhancing drainage, regrading the field, installing new artificial turf, upgrading the dugouts and bleachers, replacing the existing fence with taller fencing and netting, adding new sports lighting and park lighting, new landscaping, and replacing concrete sidewalks.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Work hours are weekdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Extended time is subject to city approval and community notification.
  • Sections will be worked on sequentially in the order depicted. All new pathway lights should be installed before the end of 2025.
  • Schedules can change due to inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances.
  • Please use caution and adhere to posted pedestrian signage while walking through the park, especially in the vicinity of construction work zones.
