Did you know that 90% of those we serve suffer some form of inflammation in their bodies? Fat is inflammation, a fatty liver is inflammation, a cellular matrix clogged with seed oils also causes inflammation.
Perhaps this January, you’d like to detox from all of that rape seed (canola) oil you’ve been subjected to from eating out while travelling, or maybe you had a blast over the holidays and threw off the reins of moderation in favour of eating all the shortbread cookies you were offered. Maybe the alcohol you had made you feel sluggish, irritable, and is still affecting your capacity to sleep soundly.
Sugar lights up the endocrine system more profoundly than cocaine. The idea that we go from Halloween, to Thanksgiving, and then right into Christmas holidays over three months of substantial imbibing in this heavily featured substance, can send our health right down the chute. Perhaps we should rename flu season, ‘over sugar indulgence season’. As, in truth, it’s a big reason why most immune systems get loaded down and are unable to do their jobs.
Couple carb and sugar loading with less exercise, substance imbibing over Thanksgiving and Christmas, less sleep from all the partying, and a lack of sunlight, and you have a recipe for disaster. When I was a kid, they used to call refined sugar ‘white death'. Now, don’t think I don’t partake on occasion, once or twice a month, but I also do about 8-9 liver cleanses a year, a seed oil detox after dinners out, and fast 24 -36 hours several times a month to give my system a chance to detox and recover. I also eat mainly a carnivore diet with sufficient fats to counter sugar cravings.
In addition, I use the homeopathic remedies Sacc-alb. (sugar) and Pancreatinum in my Drainage and Organ Support dropper daily, to check any errant sugar and ensure that my pancreas feels well-supported. We provide the same remedies to our active patients.
It’s also super important to craft a life where the sweetness of life comes from your self-care, geographic location, your resonant lover, purpose and love of work, playful fitness, study, philosophy and principles, and resonant friendships. This way the fleeting hit of fake ‘white death’ doesn’t have an addictive hold on you. You can take it or leave it.
Here’s to healthy habits and detoxing from any remaining inflammation in your body.
Love,
Ally and Jeff
