Hi Friends!
We're wrapping up March Dance Madness with the "Final Four" weekend of social dances: Contra, Hashdance, Swing, and Tango! At each dance, we'll have a few door prizes so be sure to grab a ticket when you enter. The door prize drawing will be free to enter, one ticket per dancer. We hope you'll come have a ball with us at the Park 🏀!
Next Sunday, April 5, do-si-do and swing your partner at an afternoon Bumper Car Squares dance! Caller Dakota Karper leads a rousing square dance invigorated by music from the William Brauneis Trio (William Brauneis - fiddle, Jonathan Vocke - guitar/banjo, & Dan Klingsberg - bass).
Two step the night away at a Honky Tonk Dance on Friday, April 17 . Band members are Kiti Gartner (vocals, rhythm), Zachary Sweeney (electric guitar), Jonathan Bozarth (upright bass), Brian Alpert (drums), Lynn Kasdorf (pedal steel guitar). A free dance lesson is included with admission, led by Sharon Schiliro and Michael Hart of Dancing by the Bayou. Things are heating up at Salsa & Bachata y más! On Friday, April 17, we'll start the evening off with beginner lessons in Salsa & Bachata followed by open dancing with DJ Sidekick. Co-presented with EducArte, Sarau de Samba is a joyous monthly celebration of Afro-Brazilian culture. Each session starts with a beginner dance lesson and is open to people of any skill level, no partner or instruments required. Join the celebration at the next Sarau de Samba on Sunday, April 26!
Our pilot Dance for PD® class series, presented in collaboration with Dance for PD® (Parkinson's Disease), continues in April! Classes meet in Arcade Building Classrooms 202 & 203 and are free for participants, care partners, and family members thanks to the generous support of program donors. Dance for PD® will not meet on April 1, but will be back to weekly Wednesday afternoon classes the following week.
We're back with more DanceFit: Shake Your Soul in April! Drop-in to any of our Saturday morning workouts at the door, pre-register in advance to grab the early bird discount, or try the 10-class package! Due to capacity, a limited number of registrations will be available in advance and at the door.
