Moonlight Concessions Agenda Item Update

The Moonlight Amphitheatre concessions item (Item D1) has been removed from the upcoming City Council agenda. As a result, there is no need to attend or submit comments for the March 24 meeting regarding this item.

The City has indicated that the process will be reconsidered. We appreciate the City Council and City staff for their willingness to listen to feedback, reflect, and revisit this process.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to engage, ask questions, and prepare to speak up in support of local businesses. Your involvement matters, and it made a difference.

Verizon Small Business Digital Ready $5K Grants

To complement the hundreds of free resources available through Verizon Small Business Digital Ready, Verizon, in partnership with LISC, is awarding $5,000 grants to 25 small businesses based in New York, California, and West Virginia to help them sustain and grow their businesses. The grant will be awarded directly to selected business owners and does not need to be repaid.

To be eligible to apply for the $5,000 Grant in New York, California or West Virginia, you must meet the following criteria:

Be a for-profit business. Nonprofits are not eligible to apply.
Be U.S.-based with a primary business address located in either New York, California or West Virginia. Business address will be required during the application process and verified for applicants who are selected as finalists.
Be 18 years of age or older.
Can share and provide proper business and financial verification documentation (W-9s, ACH) if selected as a finalist.

How can businesses apply?

Complete one Digital Ready course, virtual event (including recorded events), or in-person event* between January 1, 2026 and March 31, 2026 to unlock the application.
Submit the application by 11:59 PM PT on March 31, 2026. Late applications will not be considered.

Vista's Tree Giveaway Program is Back for 2026

The City of Vista is excited to relaunch the Free Tree Giveaway Program for 2026! This program offers Vista residents and active licensed Vista businesses with a variety of free trees to keep Vista beautiful and healthy. City of Vista residents and business owners can apply for a free tree to plant on their property or in the public right-of-way, adjacent to their property, with approval by City Staff. Participants can have their tree delivered at no additional cost, redeem a tree using a voucher at Devil Mountain Nursery, or receive up to a $100 reimbursement for a tree or pollinator plant purchased from another nursery with an active Vista business license. The program is expected to launch by Arbor Day 2026. Learn more about the program here.
