Vista's Fiestas Patrias

We're excited to announce the return of our Vista's Fiestas Patrias event! This event highlights Hispanic culture in our community.

We're looking for food and artisan vendors to join us to showcase this very special culture with a big impact in our community.

Temporary Food Facility Permit Workshop

Whether you’re selling food at a farmers market, community festival, or special event, understanding the TFF permit process is essential. County representatives will walk you through the application requirements, timelines, fees, and health and safety guidelines to ensure your booth meets all regulations.

When: Tuesday, August 26 | 2:00 - 3:00pm

Where: The Film Hub | 170 Eucalyptus Ave.

This workshop is perfect for restaurants, caterers, food vendors, nonprofit groups, and anyone looking to serve food at temporary events. Learn more and register here.

Fire Rescue Internship Program

In partnership with the Vista Fire Rescue, the Vista Chamber of Commerce helped administer Velocity 2.0, a program that exposed high school graduates to the field of fire rescue.

Eight interns successfully completed an intensive five-week program in which they conducted safety visits to 80+ homes, installed 260 smoke alarms through the Safe+ Sound Program, led community outreach and education efforts, and so much more!

The interns received the highest of praise and gratitude from the community, the fire chief, Dr Doyle and Dr Loescher, and the staff at Vista Fire Rescue.

Nominations Open for Excellence in North County Economic Development: Help spotlight what makes North County shine

The San Diego North County Economic Development Council each year holds the Excellence in North County Economic Development presented by North City (“The Devvies”) awards luncheon to spotlight new initiatives, programs, and expansion that are creating a more prosperous region.

If you or your company know of a recent initiative in the past 24 months that is advancing North County please feel free to submit a nomination here. Self Nominations are acceptable. Also the Council is already 60% sold out for its luncheon at the Sea Bird Hotel on 12/18 so if you would like to close out the year to celebrate our successes you can purchase tables and seats here.

September Community Information Sessions - Water Rate Study

The Vista Irrigation District will be hosting two community information sessions to provide the public with information about the District's Comprehensive Cost of Service/Water Rate Study Process. Both sessions will be held at the District's headquarters building located at 1391 Engineer Street in Vista. District staff will be on hand to answer questions. Both sessions will cover the same material.

SESSION 1 - Saturday September 13, 10:30AM -12:00PM

SESSION 2 - Thursday September 18, 5:30PM - 7:00PM
