We’ve spent several days traveling. We start reminiscing about the “old days” as a journey drags on and on… You remember those days - the days when we used an actual map, rather than a navigation app. We were heading for a major highway when our system calculated a new route. I could see the construction zone the new route would bypass, but I couldn’t see any actual roads in that area when I checked on my phone. My sweetie said, “If we are using technology we should be all in”, so we headed down the exit ramp. Seemed strange we were the only ones heading that way… The route started off on a paved road with lines, which turned into a very narrow one - no lines with sharp hairpin turns, and then turned into a dirt road! We made it back to the highway in one piece, just at the point where the construction ended. I probably would have gotten more applique done had we sat in traffic, but the adventure, like many others, was worth the bumps in the road!

Wishing you time to enjoy a little adventure with family and friends this week,

Mary Beth

This Saturday (11-29-25) those in our pieced Saturday Sampler program will meet at 9:00am. We will share shop news first, and then continue with the information you will need as we near the end of this year’s sampler. Please bring your questions about the setting directions shared last month. And of course, remember your completed block - they are so much fun to see!

Please note - very important!!! Stash Management club will start at 10:00am this Saturday! We will share show and tell, as well as a new project that will help put your scraps into use, all before the session ends at 11:00! (there will be a class coming  in right behind us this month - maybe you would like to join it, the Collage class?! Consider stopping for details and to take a look at the class sample).

Plaid Friday at QC

Friday ~ November 28th

I realize most celebrate Black Friday, but we think Plaid Friday is the way to go. Celebrated on the same day as Black Friday, the name comes from the idea that small businesses are the individual threads that are woven into a vibrant fabric - like a plaid! You might wonder how you would celebrate… Obviously, a trip to small businesses is in order - here we are welcoming a new plaid fabric group, demonstrating a design we recently taught (it looks like plaid!), and giving you a chance to win a goodie! Wear plaid for an extra chance to enter the day’s drawing!

If you ordered a 2026 QC Holiday Block Box it will be here, ready for pick up, on Friday morning (11-28-25)! Yup, once again we plan to spend Thanksgiving evening packing the petite goodies, rather than doing dishes! Each little box contains kits for twenty-four 4” x 4” pieced blocks (in holiday colors of red and green), twenty-four little treats, and setting directions for the little blocks. This has proved to be a truly fun way to mark the days leading up to Christmas - there were a couple boxes still available the other day - give a call if you have not pre-ordered one, but would like us to save one for you. (boxes are $44.95 each)

QC Take and Make Day

Wednesday ~ December 3rd

We would love to have you join us for our 2025 Take and Make Day. From 11:00am to 1:00pm next Wednesday we will share demos of several little projects that will make great gifts. In some cases we will share just the demo, in others we will hand over a bit of fabric and directions for the items. If you have ever wondered how we make the pretty napkins that complement the table pieces we display, or if you would like to see how to turn a tiny bit of fabric into unique ornaments, this is the event for you. Stop in any time during the session - we will just keep repeating the info! Hope to see you on Wednesday!

QC Market Party

Saturday ~ December 6th

Fall Quilt Market was packed with wonderful new things, wonderful things that have been arriving in the shop over the past weeks. We can’t wait to share our finds with you during our Market Party - new things will be in every corner of the shop! A great way to see things that will be arriving in the future is by attending the Market Party lecture at 11:00am that day. Lots of photos, and stories, lots of information, and even some little goodies will be shared during the presentation. Please pre-register for the lecture (we want to have enough goodies for everyone!).

2026 QC Block of the Month Premiere

Saturday ~ December 13th ~ 11:00am

We have lots of new projects planned for you in the coming year. We’ve found little projects and big projects, in a range of techniques and fabric styles - each and every one tempting! On December 13th we will share all the info - the best way to see them is in our 11:00am presentation. During the session you will get a look at pictures of the projects, and hear details about each one. Some of the programs begin as the new year starts, others start a little later. Working a quilt this way, little by little, over weeks or months, has proven to be the best way to a finished project - well worth your creative energy!

Please pre-register for the lecture to ensure you get a seat!

Please note ~ current shop hours are 10:00am-4:00pm Monday thru Saturday.
