Some things never change. I texted youngest a picture while riding in the car to a family event last week. It showed needles, thread, scissors, and quilt carefully perched on my lap as I bound it. As you might guess, it was a present for the event we were headed towards. I was quite proud to finish two hours before the ride ended. You’d think I would have learned to be pretty careful with feeling proud. It usually proceeds feeling pretty foolish by just a bit… I showed up the next day wearing different shoes than I had planned. I shared with youngest that my pants were too long for the preferred footwear. She, in the most deadpan voice, commented that it was too bad I didn’t know how to, or have the supplies to, shorten the pants. Yup, black pants that could have been hemmed with the same supplies used for the quilt!

Wishing you a week where you recognize the obvious,

Mary Beth

This Saturday (10-24-26) those in our end of the month pieced Saturday Sampler group will meet at 9:00am. These five Saturday months are tricky - we wanted to avoid Halloween, so the meeting is this Saturday. During the session we will share news of all the fun things happening in the shop, and then we will move on to the next block in the series and a setting option for your blocks. Your work is looking great - I can’t wait to see your next blocks!

Saturday we will also hold the second session in the new Stash Management series. The meeting will begin at 10:30 with show and tell (things members have created with their stash), next will be sharing organization suggestions, and then we will finish up with a new pattern to put your fabric collection into play - with laughter and inspiration at every step! Fee only $10.00 for the entire year! (runs September to August 2027)

QC Holliday Open House

November 6th & 7th

Things are beginning to look very merry around here! By the first weekend in November we will be ready to ring in the season with you! During the open house you will find new fabrics, patterns, displays,... and our special little event gift - our 2027 QC date book. There will also be sweets (because let's face it, no party would be complete without them!) and the chance to win a holiday themed gift! Be sure to bring your current date book to enter the drawing twice during your visit!

I mentioned the Klimty Cats fabric briefly last week. It deserves a more serious mention now that Bonnie has made a version of the Playing with Panels Market Tote featuring the cat panel! She has a true knack for selecting, and positioning, fabrics for unforgettable results. The collections panel, stripe, and coordinates blend beautifully with other groups in the shop - adding versatility, pizzazz, and just plain old fun to whatever they become!

Pattern $15.00 (Would you like Bonnie to teach this tote as a class again?!!!)

Fabric Cafe continues to publish fabulous new booklets at an amazing clip! This time Fran and Donna are sharing patterns for five lovely runners (it’s like they knew we would need them for our upcoming From Our Table event!). Each design in Festive Gatherings Table Runners takes just four fabrics - three half yard cuts and one full yard cut. As always, you will find clearly written and illustrated directions for each runner between the covers. I’ve spent the last few days trying to decide just which one to start with. What do you think of these Garden Dalliance prints for the Snowdrift runner?

Book $15.99
