Youngest called as she was heading to the grocery store on Tuesday. She was looking for things she wouldn’t normally get (curry powder has never been on her list before), which was making the trip a bit longer than her usual weekly 32 minute jaunt. That’s 32 minutes total to the store, shop the store, and back home! She said a quick goodbye as she attempted to juggle the phone while ringing up and bagging her items. I wasn’t surprised by another call a few minutes later, although her questions were a bit of a surprise. A few years back we sent a crockpot for a friend of a friend of hers (we had six, but that’s a different story…). It was never gifted, never used, just moved from apartment to apartment. She found a new recipe and now wanted to know how to use the crockpot. Definitely a cooking lesson miss on my part. After a little explanation, she had the basics down, but had one last question. “Do I need to wash it before I use it?” I started to say since it was never used and the top has been on, but was interrupted with “there’s a bit of lint and thread in it”. She had been using it all along to store fabric!

Hope cooking doesn’t cut into your sewing time this week!

This Saturday (12-6-25) those in our beginning of the month pieced Saturday Sampler group will meet at 9:00am. Can you believe - only two more blocks?!  We will share shop news first, and then continue with the information you will need as we near the end of this year’s sampler. Please bring your questions about the setting directions shared last month. And of course, remember your completed block - they are so much fun to see!

QC Market Party!

Saturday ~ December 6th

Market lecture ~ 11:00am!

Fall Quilt Market was packed with wonderful new things, wonderful things that have been arriving in the shop over the past weeks. We can’t wait to share our finds with you during the party. A great way to see things that will be arriving in the future is by attending the Market Party lecture at 11:00am on Saturday. Lots of photos, and stories, lots of information, and even some little goodies will be shared during the presentation. Please pre-register for the lecture (we want to have enough goodies for everyone!).

Be sure to look for Bonnie’s wonderful version of By Annie’s newest bag - Foldilocks! The pattern is new from Market!

Block of the Month Premiere

New - added session!

Saturday ~ December 13th ~ 1:00pm

We have lots of new projects planned for you in the coming year. We’ve found little projects and big projects, in a range of techniques and fabric styles - each and every one tempting! On December 13th we will share all the info - the best way to see them is during one of our presentations. The 11:00am session is filled, but not to worry, we have room for you in the 1:00pm session. During the session you will get a look at pictures of the projects, and hear details about each one. Some of the programs begin as the new year starts, others start a little later. Working a quilt this way, little by little, over weeks or months, has proven to be the best way to a finished project! We would love to have you join us - openings available in the 1:00pm session. Pre-registration is required.

New fabrics have arrived at an amazing pace - they are literally everywhere! The new Aboriginal prints are well worth a look. The traditional style artwork is amazing - each print, created by an Aboriginal artist, holds special meaning. The dots and swirls, worked in deep bright colors, would be the perfect starting point for a simple, or more complex, project. I love how they work with solids and tone on tone prints - so very striking!

Fabric $13.99 per yard See these online...
