This Saturday (7-25-26) marks the release of the next block in our pieced Saturday Sampler series. If you are in the group that meets at the end of the month you may pick up your block kit at any point during the day - it is a grab and go version this month. That means that between 10:00am and 4:00pm you show your finished #6 block in order to receive the block #7 kit, and a short note, as our gift. Be sure to take a look at the in-progress, and finished versions of the new block - maybe take a quick photo for reference?! Your blocks are looking great - can’t wait to see what you have pieced!

QC Sidewalk Celebration!

Our summer sidewalk celebration is legendary! Guests come from all over to snag amazing quilt world goodies at unbelievable prices! From yardage, to fat quarters, to shop samples, and goodie baskets, the deals are not to be missed. Please pull out your QC 2026 date book and note the new event dates (cross out the end of July dates and add the event to the August page please!) - maybe share the info with your friends, too?! 

QC Pillowcase Race

August 1st - 15th

A race, no running involved, how can you go wrong?! During our annual pillowcase race we stitch pillowcases made with 100% cotton fabric in child friendly prints. During the race you bring in your finished pillowcases, and then via Ryan’s Case for Smiles each goes to a child facing a life threatening illness at Children’s Hospital. We would love to have you rev up your sewing machine - every single pillowcase makes a difference! As with other races, there are prizes to be won, but the real win is knowing that your stitching will brighten the room of a young patient!

Villa Rosa Day at QC

Saturday ~ August 15th

We love the people and patterns connected with a favorite company, Villa Rosa. Over the years, they have released more than 750 patterns in their unique postcard format. We had so much fun celebrating their achievements last year that we decided to go for a repeat! On the 15th we will have new Villa Rosa models in place, showcasing some of the newest fabrics in the shop, and we will have lots of patterns available so you can pick a free one as a gift. The patterns really help us put wonderful fabrics into use - they can do the same for you!

One of my favorite H&H trade show memories was a quick demo of a new Villa Rosa product. Are your pattern cards neatly organized, or tucked everywhere like mine are?! The pattern makers developed, and launched, the perfect organizational tool - their discbound storage binders! Each binder holds forty cards in easy to access pattern sleeves. Freezer Paper Foundation Piecing

Saturday ~ August 8th ~ 10:30am-2:30pm

Have you tried foundation paper piecing the traditional way? Do you enjoy the task of ripping off the paper when you have finished your piecing? If your answer is no, this is the class for you! During the session, you will learn to use freezer paper in a novel way. With the system Bonnie will share, you peel the paper from the back of your work in a single piece once you are done stitching - the paper can even be used again! This technique is well worth a try!

Sunday hours!!!

Over the next several weeks the shop will be open three Sundays - rather different for us!!! 

Two of those dates are hosted to welcome both you, and All Mid-Atlantic Shop Hop guests - July 26th and August 30th we will be open from 11:00am-4:00pm.

The other Sunday we are open will be the second day of our Sidewalk Celebration - August 2nd we will be open from 12:00pm-4:00pm. There should still be fabulous deals on our sidewalk during this second day of our summer sale!
