A few years back I had my sweetie repaint a room right after he was done painting it, as the cream color just wasn’t right… You can imagine the lengths we go to now to find the right color on the first try. This time we needed a whitish color that would go with the existing trim color that runs throughout the entire house. Smart man that he is, he made a trip to the store for paint chips. None of them were called Cloud Dancer, but they might as well have been. Names like Linen, Polar Bear, Frost, Blank Canvas, Cottage White, Whipped Cream, and more all looked about the same to my sweetie, but not to a quilter! We even asked our younger son if he liked the Blank Canvas color that they just added to every wall in their new place. He said he loves it, as it’s now on every surface - I think he remembers repainting the family room here… We matched one chip to the trim, and selected another to coordinate - Cottage White was the winner. The color’s perfect. Too bad the trim color isn’t quite right! Now the question becomes where do you stop with the new trim color. Today my sweetie spent time painting just the tiny lip on a door frame - and people think quilters’ 1/4” seams are a pain…
Wishing you the perfect color white this week - whether quilt background fabric or paint,
Mary Beth
