The Trinity Church e-Tower

for

Twenty-First Sunday after Pentecost

October 18, 2026

8 AM and 10 AM Worship

Dear Friends,

Last night we had our monthly vestry meeting, and we spent most of our meeting talking about the abundant life and activity at Trinity right now. It was almost too much to name, but we tried. We reflected on how profound Sea Service Sunday was, along with all of our other Trinity300 events. We acknowledged all the new families who have joined us at church and in Sunday School. We expressed our gratitude for the church staff and all of our lay leaders who have gone above and beyond to make every event and worship service over the last year meaningful and beautiful. This weekend will be no exception as we wrap up our Trinity300 celebrations with an Evensong on Sunday afternoon.

When we were not discussing all the incredible ministries at Trinity right now we were holding our responsibility for the financial life of Trinity Church and planning for the future. Our annual pledge campaign will begin next week, and I'm sure you won't be surprised to hear that as our ministry grows, so does our church budget. We will rely on your participation and generosity to plan for the year ahead.

But you don't need to wait until next year to support this ministry! If you are in a position to give to Trinity right now, your gift would be put to good use. In our gospel this weekend we will Jesus remind us to give to God what is God's. We hope that in giving to Trinity you feel like you are giving back to God, and being part of sharing God's love in this church and community.

I am grateful - so grateful - for our committed vestry leadership. They are prayerful, responsible, faithful, courageous, loving, and joyful. Please know that this group of people is caring for you and praying for you and for this church.

What an incredible blessing.

Best,

Meaghan

Calling all Bakers!

Please help us make our upcoming Pumpkin Patch (Oct 7-31) be safe, fun, successful and delicious!

Pumpkin breads, cookies, muffins, etc are needed when the patch is open as our guests from cruise ships and other towns don't always buy pumpkins but they seem to really enjoy our baked goods so we want a good supply on hand everyday. They can be dropped off after noon on weekdays and after 10:00 on weekends.

If you can help, kindly bake and place cooled baked items in individual ziplock bags. Please mark your goods if they contain nuts or chocolate and also mark if they are gluten free.

Thank you for baking for the patch!

Thank you! Ellen Patterson and Dolores Bauer

Silver Tea Advent Calendar

The Silver Tea Craft Group has been meeting faithfully on Tuesday afternoons to ready their wares for the Silver Tea to be held on December 5th, in the Hawes Room. But before you see this year’s creations, you have the opportunity to bring home something special!

The crafters will welcome your donations for entries into a special drawing for this year’s Advent Calendar. This wooden calendar will be on display each Sunday from now until November 15th, when the winner will be drawn during coffee hour. What a great hostess gift this would be for that Thanksgiving gathering, or something to be treasured year after year.

The suggested donation is $5 per entry, or 3 entries for $10.00. You need not be present to win!

Of course, we thank you for your support!

Organ Update

Our Tricentennial Organ for Trinity Church (Opus 170) is coming along at the Fisk shop in Gloucester, MA.

Please save the date for an Open House, held at Fisk to see, hear, and play (!) our new organ fully assembled before it gets packed up and brought to Newport. The Open House will be held Saturday, November 14th. Stay tuned for travel coordination from Trinity to the shop.

Construction in the balcony will begin November 2, and for a period of six weeks the balconies will be closed off and covered in plastic. We will all worship together with the choir on the first floor and we look forward to seeing and hearing each other in a new way during this time of transition and building!
