The Second Sunday After Pentecost, June 22 8 AM and 10 AM Worship

Have you heard the news?

Trinity Church has a new Rector!

The Rev. Meaghan Kelly Brower.

Read the announcement here.

Now is the time to make a witness about Trinity Church

What do I mean? "Bring a friend to church," or "Invite a neighbor" rarely works for growing a church. Why? Because no one wants to "sell" to friends, especially one's religious beliefs.

We are called, however, to be a "witness" to our faith. That means talking about Trinity Church and its importance in your life at every opportunity.

Okay. How? Here are two suggestions that I hope are easy.

  1. Put up posters for upcoming events at the supermarket, library, and health club. Wherever there is a bulletin board. Posters for upcoming events are always available in the back of the church and in Hawes Hall.
  2. Everytime you're at Trinity, "check-in" on your social media. Tomorrow at the Strawberry Festival, post a picture of you and a shortcake. Leave a Google review!

The point is that now is the time, with a new rector coming and the new building near completion, to help Trinity spread the word of the lively faith on Queen Anne Square.

Strawberry Festival Volunteer Sign-Up:

Strawberry Festival: June 21, 2025

It's that time of year when strawberries abound! All volunteers should note that there will be parking available at both the Mill Street and Church Street Parking lots of The Boys and Girls Club on Saturday.

There are some volunteer slots available. This is your chance to sign up for this fun event. Click here to sign up. There is always room for assistance with cutting berries, set-up, serving, and clean-up. It is a celebrated event that brings neighbors and visitors together at Queen Ann Square. A kick-off to Summer in Newport made possible by the fellowship at Trinity Church.

Come enjoy strawberry shortcakes, fresh lemonade, live music with your friends, family and neighbors.

Thanks for participating in this lively parish event!

New Building and Challenge Match Update

So, thank you to all those who have stepped up to help. We still have a Capital Campaign Matching Challenge to raise $75,000 by Trinity Sunday, June 15th. So far, we have gotten $54,425 in new donations in response to this challenge.

Please consider helping us raise the remaining funds to complete the new building. Right now, it looks as though we will need to activate the line of credit to pay bills after July.

Trinity Church Reading Group:

At our final meeting before our summer break, we decided to read the following two books over the summer.

"Why We Remember: Unlocking Memory’s Power To Hold On To What Matters", by Charan Ranganath The author takes us on a tour of the mind and the brain and how memory plays in nearly every aspect of our lives.

"The British Are Coming", by Rick Atkinson This is the first in his trilogy of the American Revolution, taking us through the first 21 months of the Revolution. The saga is full riveting details and untold stories of the first chapter of our country’s history

Enjoy the summer, as we have enjoyed our meetings together, and we will meet again after Labor Day in September.

Cheers,

Anne

The Trinity Altar Society is happy to assist you in providing flowers as a beautiful symbol of what we offer to God in our worship. Whether to honor a loved one’s memory, to celebrate a special occasion, or simply in thanksgiving, it only takes a phone call or an e-mail to Chris Pimentel, cap5182@cox.net
