The Trinity Church e-Tower

for

Twenty-Second Sunday after Pentecost

October 25, 2026

8 AM and 10 AM Worship

Dear Friends,

Last Saturday I was sitting in the office getting a bit of work done when suddenly the music from the Pumpkin Patch caught my attention. You may not know this, but one of the unexpected benefits of the Glenn Family Center is it's incredible acoustics. I jumped up from my desk to follow the sounds, and you can see a few moments of it captured in this video.

Diane Myers was singing along with two others, and I was caught up in the beauty of the familiar words of "Let it Be" and the harmony they all made together. Diane later told me that Tim Cunningham was our scheduled musician (on guitar). The other singer with her was a Salve student, Sarah, who had signed up to work the Patch as a volunteer. She mentioned she was a singer and ended up with a microphone. She didn't know music was part of our Patch, but is now signed up to be one of our musicians tomorrow at 4pm!

There are so many moments like the one I've just described at Trinity Church. Moments when we are just going along on our day and suddenly the Spirit forces us to look up from what we're doing to see God at work. The Pumpkin Patch provides many of those opportunities of joy and connection, but so does every other ministry we are privileged to be part of here. It's not possible for any one of us to catch every single moment of divine intervention at this church, so it's up to us to share the stories when we can, and trust in the Spirit's work when we can see it and when we can't.

I know I say this over and over, but I am so grateful to be among you and to witness even some of the beauty of the life of this church. And I'm grateful for the Spirit, speaking words of wisdom. Let it be.

Best,

Meaghan

Calling all Bakers!

Please help us make our upcoming Pumpkin Patch (Oct 7-31) be safe, fun, successful and delicious!

Pumpkin breads, cookies, muffins, etc are needed when the patch is open as our guests from cruise ships and other towns don't always buy pumpkins but they seem to really enjoy our baked goods so we want a good supply on hand everyday. They can be dropped off after noon on weekdays and after 10:00 on weekends.

If you can help, kindly bake and place cooled baked items in individual ziplock bags. Please mark your goods if they contain nuts or chocolate and also mark if they are gluten free.

Thank you for baking for the patch!

Thank you! Ellen Patterson and Dolores Bauer

Silver Tea Advent Calendar

The Silver Tea Craft Group has been meeting faithfully on Tuesday afternoons to ready their wares for the Silver Tea to be held on December 5th, in the Hawes Room. But before you see this year’s creations, you have the opportunity to bring home something special!

The crafters will welcome your donations for entries into a special drawing for this year’s Advent Calendar. This wooden calendar will be on display each Sunday from now until November 15th, when the winner will be drawn during coffee hour. What a great hostess gift this would be for that Thanksgiving gathering, or something to be treasured year after year.

The suggested donation is $5 per entry, or 3 entries for $10.00. You need not be present to win!

Of course, we thank you for your support!

Organ Update

Our Tricentennial Organ for Trinity Church (Opus 170) is coming along at the Fisk shop in Gloucester, MA.

Please save the date for an Open House, held at Fisk to see, hear, and play (!) our new organ fully assembled before it gets packed up and brought to Newport. The Open House will be held Saturday, November 14th. Stay tuned for travel coordination from Trinity to the shop.

Construction in the balcony will begin November 2, and for a period of six weeks the balconies will be closed off and covered in plastic. We will all worship together with the choir on the first floor and we look forward to seeing and hearing each other in a new way during this time of transition and building!
