ONWARD!
“Onward.”
With that word, I had a Senior Warden sign all his emails to me. Whether we were discussing a high point in our ministry or a disappointment, a joy or a concern, he always finished with, “Onward.”
“Never stand still,” he wanted to say. “We are never finished and there is work to do. Resist complacency. Chase dreams. Listen to the better angels of daring hopes, and resist the destructive voices that whisper of cynicism and despair.”
Jesus is always saying the same thing in one way or another.
So I say, too: Onward. Onward to love and serve Christ in all persons, respecting the dignity of every human being.
Timothy Safford, Interim Rector

Listening for God's voice in the Sunday morning Bible study
When we finish a scripture in church, the reader says, "Hear what the Spirit is saying to God's people." Through meditating on a passage of scripture, we hear God still speaking. This is the goal of the Sunday morning Bible Study which now meets in Honyman Hall each Sunday at 9 a.m. Prepare by reading the passages in advance, click here.

Stewardship 2025
Pledge ingathering Sunday is November 17, when we put all of our commitments on the communion table and ask God's blessing on our gifts and the ministry of our church. If you haven't received a pledge card, speak to an usher or reach out to Terry Commodore, chair of the Stewardship Committee.
We are very grateful for the 39 pledges already received for $150,573. Three of the pledges are new, and twenty-one are increases over 2025! We are at 41% of our 2025 goal of $360,000.

So, we will be celebrating Commitment Sunday and the Construction Start on November 17th after the 10 am service with an update and an enhanced coffee hour.
Please plan to attend the celebration of this incredibly significant achievement.

What’s with all the flags in Trinity Church’s graveyard?
The green flags mark the stones that Jimmy Lappin has cleaned — singlehandedly and with a handful of volunteers — over the past two years!
-
Last week the stones were given an extra dose of D/2 Biological Solution for the winter to minimize the regrowth of microorganisms including bacteria, fungi, and algae.
-
Continuing our tradition, for the week of Veterans Day, historically accurate flags will be displayed on the graves of 23 servicemen. These include veterans of the early colonial wars; British, American and French veterans of the Revolutionary War; and Americans from the Civil War, World Wars I and II, and thereafter.
