The Trinity Church e-Tower

for the

Seventh Sunday of Easter

May 17, 2026

8 AM and 10 AM Worship

Message from the Rector:

For the last month Newport Window Restoration has been on the property almost every day painting the exterior of Honeyman Hall, removing, restoring, and replacing the windows, and adding storm windows on the first floor.

The window work is still in process, but the painting has been completed, and the building looks so lovely.

It is a privilege to care for our buildings here in the heart of Newport - new and old - but it is also sometimes a challenge. Your vestry has been so attentive to the work of caring for our buildings inside and out, and that care is now reflected in all three of these structures. There are more projects in progress (drainage alongside the Glenn Family Center and the deck repair) and some still to come (renovation of the second floor of Honyman Hall for the choir and - of course - the organ!). The work of tending to our property is ongoing, and remains possible because of your strong vestry leadership and the generosity of this congregation who make it possible.

You can join members of our vestry this Saturday from 9 - 11:30am for a grounds clean up day to help steward our land. Your presence would be welcome and appreciated.

I would be remiss if I didn't mention that all of our buildings and property are simply vehicles for God's work. Our buildings are not the most important thing about Trinity Church, but they provide space to for God's people to pray, sing, eat, gather, learn, plan, and care for one another. What a thrilling moment in the life of Trinity Church that all three of these buildings are ready for their doors to be thrown wide open so that we can welcome people and head out again into the world ready to serve!

With gratitude,

Meaghan

We look forward to celebrating our 12th Strawberry Festival with members of the parish and our entire community! As with every year, volunteers for strawberry prep, tent raising, serving, set up and breakdown are needed to make this event a success. Sign up to volunteer through this link or on the sign up sheet at coffee hour on Sunday. Thank you!

We continue collections for Lucy's Hearth, this week. Lucy's Hearth is a 24-hour emergency and transitional shelter in Newport County serving children and their families who are experiencing homelessness. We have supported Lucy's Hearth many times through our Pumpkin Patch, and they have a list of food needs that are tailored to families in particular. If you can bring any of the items from this list to church with you in the coming weeks, we will be sure to deliver the food to Lucy's Hearth. If you have questions about this effort, please email Diane Myers.

A Note on Wild Worship

Wild Worship, or Worship in the Wild, offers prayer and simple song, encouraging quiet exploration of the glories of God’s Creation as found on the exquisite grounds of the Norman Bird Sanctuary. Spring marks a time of new growth, new beginnings, and hope for all who share “this fragile Earth, our island home.” Please join us, with children and/or grandchildren as we walk, look, share and pray.
