Message from the Rector:
Last Sunday morning after a beautiful baptism at the 10am service and then a truly special "Silver Sunday" presentation by Mary Sinnott and Spencer Gordon, I walked out the church doors to the view shown in this picture. Fred Jodry's car trunk was open in its space, and he was making his way down the walkway to tend to our plants and flowers.
While I was able to capture this particular photo, I know there are countless moments with countless other people just like this that I'm not there to witness. One of the things I am always struck by at Trinity Church is how many members of this community quietly work behind the scenes to care for our church, her members, and our property. Our organist-turned-landscaper is only one example. So many of you tend to this place as if it is your own - and it is humbling and inspiring to work alongside you in your efforts.
This special springtime moment serves a dual purpose for me this week, because it is a happy reminder of the beauty of God's creation and our responsibility to care for it. On Sunday we will welcome The Rev. Norman MacLoed as our preacher. Norman lives in Newport and often joins us in worship from the pews. In his retirement he serves as Co-Chair of the Creation Care Ministry of the Diocese. While serving parishes in New England over 30 years he has worked on environmental ministry projects. I am always grateful to Norman for the ways that he uses his voice to advocate for the earth and all her inhabitants, and to remind us that part of loving and serving God means loving and tending to God's creation.
We will also be joined on Sunday by the Choir School of Newport County who will add beauty and wonder to our worship with their voices. It will be a wonderful morning indeed - Alleluia!
With gratitude,
Meaghan

Organ Presentation:
Sunday, April 26, 11:15am
The image you see here is a miniature model of Trinity Church with our new organ imagined in place. Making this model is part of the intricate process that CB Fisk, Inc. engages in when they are designing and building a new organ!
Join us after church on Sunday, April 26 at 11:15am to see this model and hear from Charles Nazarian, the architectural designer who works for Fisk and created this model. Tours of the organ loft and an explanation of the next steps of our organ project will also be part of the program.

Honyman Hall Work Continues
Work has started on the exterior renovation of Honyman Hall! Please be aware that equipment is set up around the building, and some work vehicles and trailers will be parked on our property in the coming weeks. Parking will be even more limited than usual, so please park on surrounding streets or in the Mary St. Lot. We are so eager to have this building painted and restored, and we are grateful to the generous donors who have made this project possible!

We continue collections for Lucy's Hearth, this week. Lucy's Hearth is a 24-hour emergency and transitional shelter in Newport County serving children and their families who are experiencing homelessness. We have supported Lucy's Hearth many times through our Pumpkin Patch, and they have a list of food needs that are tailored to families in particular. If you can bring any of the items from this list to church with you in the coming weeks, we will be sure to deliver the food to Lucy's Hearth. If you have questions about this effort, please email Diane Myers.
