For the Great Three Days of Easter 2025

Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Easter

Beloved:

Today begins the Great Three Days of Easter (or the Triduum, if you're being fancy). Essentially, it is one service, that convenes at three different times.

On Maundy Thursday, we commemorate Jesus' last night with his disciples and the institution of the Lord's supper before his arrrest. On Good Friday, we commemorate the the arrest, trial and crucifixion, and the laying of Jesus' body in the tomb.

And on Easter Sunday, we proclaim that Christ is risen from the dead.

The Maundy Thursday liturgy is at Emmanuel Church, 42 Dearborn Street, at 6 p.m. Good Friday at Noon and Easter Sunday at 8 and 10 a.m. are at Trinity. Those wishing to participate in the Great Vigil of Easter are warmly invited on Saturday to St. John's at 61 Poplar Street, 7 p.m.

SEARCH COMMITTEE UPDATE

The Search process continues to move forward. We now have 2 interviews scheduled for later this month We also expect to receive another candidate’s materials any day now, bringing us to 3 possibilities. While this may seem like a small field, the reality is that in the Episcopal church at this time there are more openings than there are clergy. And, as in many things, quality not quantity is what is most important. As always, we ask for your prayers and your patience as we continue our work to find the rector that God intends for Trinity.

Faithfully yours,

Dolores Bauer

Search Committee Chair

The current projection is that we will have a July move-in date. We still need to raise an additional $100K to ensure that we will not need a mortgage after completion. While a donation in any amount would be greatly appreciated, please consider funding one of the following items. Help us add the finishing touches to our new Education and Administration Building.
