In Thanksgiving
Trinity Church, Newport, has much to be thankful for. With the beginning of construction on the long-delayed Education and Administration building, a palpable energy of hope and accomplishment is catching on. Discouragement and naysaying seems depleted. Worship is faithful and full. Ten kids have been in Sunday School! Stewardship is reporting 37 increased pledges. The search for the next rector is underway and making progress.
In all things, glory to God in the highest!
Timothy Safford, Interim Rector

Stewardship 2025
A big thank you to all of our members who added their pledge to our offering plate on Commitment Sunday this week, in paper in the plate or symbolically online.
With 79 pledges received to date, your generosity totals nearly $265K. The Stewardship team is delighted to see that 9 of those pledges are new this year, and 37 of the pledges are increased over last year.
If you have not yet made a pledge for 2025, it’s not too late. You can make your 2025 pledge online with a click here.
If you need a pledge card or coaching to enter your pledge online, Terry Commodore or Molly, the Parish Administrator, can help with that.

Listening for God's voice in the Sunday morning Bible study
When we finish a scripture in church, the reader says, "Hear what the Spirit is saying to God's people." Through meditating on a passage of scripture, we hear God still speaking. This is the goal of the Sunday morning Bible Study which now meets in Honyman Hall each Sunday at 9 a.m. Prepare by reading the passages in advance, click here.

Building on the outside...
Building on the inside...

Thank-you Mr. Jeff Moniz for assembling the new table.

| | | Trinity Church Reading Group: At our meeting on Monday evening, we decided to skip our meeting in December and fully enjoy the holidays. Our next meeting will be on January 13 at 5:00PM. In the meantime, we decided to read The Lost City of Z, by David Grann. Mr. Gran researched and writes about the expedition of Percy Fawcett in 1925 into the jungle of the Amazon with the aim of discovering the location of the legendary city of gold as described by the native tribes of that region. | |
Trinity’s Silver Tea
Plans are in full swing for our Christmas in Newport event, Trinity’s Silver Tea, scheduled for December 7th, 1-4 PM in the Hawes Room. Your faithful commitment to this event has aways ensured its success, so we are asking for your help once again!
We need for our “closet crafters” to continue working at home! The craft group that has been meeting on Monday afternoons has finished up, but will come together again on Monday, December 2nd at 12:30 to polish silver. Join us!
There are now sign-up sheets located on the table in Hawes Room. We are looking for bakers to make “pick up” desserts and our “tea sandwich makers” to let us know their preference.
We are especially in search of fresh cut greens from parishioner’s yards! Let us know if you can help in this way.
And most importantly, if you do nothing else, plan to visit Trinity on December 7th!
