Dear Friends,

The last two weeks at Trinity have been so wonderful and full that I can barely keep up with telling you about it!

On Sunday, September 6th, after our Feast of Creation in the morning, we celebrated the marriage one of our Junior Wardens, Dan Cordeiro, and his partner Daniel Ludlam. It was a joyful and sacred occasion. The following day, 40 of us gathered on Third Beach for a Trinity Family Beach Dinner. We ended the evening around the fire, and I captured the photo you see here - a few of our church children with their heads together in front of the fire, searching for constellations in the night sky.

The next morning we welcomed 30 Salve students for their annual Day of Service. They helped us trim hedges and scrub the white fence that surrounds our property, and their infectious energy graced our property.

On Monday this week a large crowd attended "Monday with Munday", and listened to architect Ross Cann tell us about Richard Munday and his work building Trinity Church. And the following evening the Trinity book group welcomed author Kay Enokido to talk about her book "Phantom Paradise".

This Sunday we will hear passages of scripture that remind us of God's generosity, even when we can't always see it or believe it in our own lives. I can't help but pause and be so, so grateful for the tremendous life we have in our church right now. I know there are chapters in our individual or communal lives where it is harder to see that abundance, so I don't want to miss marveling at it in this moment.

More life at Trinity awaits this Sunday! We will celebrate our Homecoming Sunday with the return of the choir and the start of our Sunday School program. After church we will have a cookout together and enjoy special musical guests to accompany us to lunch. If you haven't already, please sign up to bring something to share for our meal. The main course will be provided by the vestry!

Remember to leave extra time for parking this Sunday. It's a busy weekend in Newport, we church is going to be way more exciting than the Boat Show!

Silver Tea Crafting

Continues

Attention Silver Tea Crafters! One of Trinity’s longstanding traditions, our annual Silver Tea event, will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2026, from 1– 4 PM in the Hawes Room.

Do you have a secret talent that we don’t know about? Do you do needlecraft, sewing, knitting, painting, woodworking, jewelry making, ceramics, mixed media, or any other type of craft? If so, we are looking for your donation of handicrafts to be for sale on the artisan table at the tea!

Join us on Tuesday afternoons at 12:30 PM in the Hawes Room. Either bring your own project to work on and enjoy good company and fellowship, or help us to complete items that will be available for sale on that day. Questions? Contact: Chris Pimentel or Deb Lengyel

Calling all Bakers!

Please help us make our upcoming Pumpkin Patch (Oct 7-31) be safe, fun, successful and delicious! We need volunteers to bake small and large Pumpkin breads and Cranberry breads, cookies, and jars of Apple butters etc for us to sell. Kindly bake and place cooled baked items in individual ziplock bags. Please mark your goods if the contain nuts or chocolate and also mark if they are gluten free. The items can be delivered to Trinity any day the Patch is open. We will especially want lots of freshly baked items on the weekends! Thanks for contributing your time and baking talents towards this important Trinity community event!
