Message from the Rector:
What a glorious Easter morning we shared at Trinity Church! We welcomed a full church for worship, and we were accompanied by incredible musicians and members of the choir who truly helped us to experience the joy and magnificence of Christ's resurrection. Alleluia! Christ is Risen!
My husband captured the photo above from where he sat in the choir loft, and I posted it on my facebook page later in the day. Someone I have known for many years commented:
"I can tell from that lean that you want to be closer to your people."
She was absolutely right. It is such a privilege to climb up into that pulpit each week, but especially last Sunday I was eager to be among the group of people gathered to sing and pray and worship together. The only sadness I encountered all morning was that it was over so quickly!
Our Easter Sunday experience was made even more profound after the meaningful services we shared with Emmanuel during Holy Week. I have tremendous gratitude for everyone who made these services possible - it takes so many dedicated people to plan and prepare and engage in our worship and we are blessed with wonderful teams at Trinity. I am grateful for my colleague The Rev. Della Wager Wells at Emmanuel, and the chance to share the experience of Holy Week with our Episcopal neighbors down the road.
The Easter season continues for 50 days and we have so many opportunities to be together during that time. Please join us on Sunday for a baptism at our 10am service and our Silver Sunday event that will follow in the church. As I said on Easter Sunday, "we need our church friends" to help us understand and believe in resurrection, even - and especially - on the days when we struggle to understand it ourselves. I am confident you will help me see and believe in resurrection over and over in the days to come.
With gratitude,
Meaghan

Our Legacy:
A Cherished, Historic
Treasury of Silver
Among the many physical and tangible assets
and treasures that Trinity has been blessed with over the centuries is a collection of fine silver. Since 1703, with the first gift of a chalice and patten sent by the governing body of the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel, the church has been the beneficiary of blessings in the form of memorial, gifted and commissioned liturgical silver that is still in regular use today.
Since the first recorded evidence in 1880—and likely before—a quiet, committed and faithful group of parishioners have prepared, maintained and cared for our sacred silver—vessels and other precious items—lovingly stewarding their condition and availability for all manner of worship services and rites of the church. The Altar Society of Trinity Church is responsible for this collection that represents significant artistic, historical and community value—serving as enduring “crown jewels” that have recorded our history of faith and devotion for over three centuries.
This Sunday a “Silver Sunday” presentation will take place, after coffee hour, from 12:00 to 1:00 pm, where we will have the opportunity to see, learn about and discuss some highlighted items in depth. Our very own Mary Sinnott, longtime “Directress” of the Altar Society and visiting silver expert Spencer Gordon, will bring these curated items from our silver collection to life, in terms of their significance, provenance, quality and the underlying human story. Please join us as we experience together a rare glimpse into our past and the faithfully departed who inhabit it!

Organ Presentation:
Sunday, April 26, 11:15am
The image you see here is a miniature model of Trinity Church with our new organ imagined in place. Making this model is part of the intricate process that CB Fisk, Inc. engages in when they are designing and building a new organ!
Join us after church on Sunday, April 26 at 11:15am to see this model and hear from Charles Nazarian, the architectural designer who works for Fisk and created this model. Tours of the organ loft and an explanation of the next steps of our organ project will also be part of the program.

Honyman Hall Work Begins
Work has started on the exterior renovation of Honyman Hall! Please be aware that equipment is set up around the building, and some work vehicles and trailers will be parked on our property in the coming weeks. Parking will be even more limited than usual, so please park on surrounding streets or in the Mary St. Lot. We are so eager to have this building painted and restored, and we are grateful to the generous donors who have made this project possible!

We continue collections for Lucy's Hearth, this week. Lucy's Hearth is a 24-hour emergency and transitional shelter in Newport County serving children and their families who are experiencing homelessness. We have supported Lucy's Hearth many times through our Pumpkin Patch, and they have a list of food needs that are tailored to families in particular. If you can bring any of the items from this list to church with you in the coming weeks, we will be sure to deliver the food to Lucy's Hearth. If you have questions about this effort, please email Diane Myers.
