From Fred Jodry:
A trip to the Fisk Organ shop!
On Sunday Jan 11th , some 15 members of the organ committee and the choir drove to Gloucester MA to visit the Fisk organ shop. The company had erected a large three manual organ destined to be shipped to Miami, and it was a good occasion for members of Trinity to see all the amazing steps necessary to build an organ.
Our own organ case has been re-erected in their shop (see below), a bit empty and forlorn, but looking larger than one expects in this large room. Some pipes from the old organ will be melted down and re-cast as recycled metal, and shaped into new pipes. We observed the computer modeling of our new organ, and were able how the organ fits into the balcony and Tower for better projection of sound.
Perhaps the best part was to see the model of the west end of our church. Fisk uses custom built models to help determine the correct and scale and size of new organ. A new Choir division will live on the balcony rail, and will be useful in playing with the choir – soon to be seated all together in the center of the balcony (as we were at Christmas!)
We look forward to other visits to Gloucester over the next 8 – 9 months as our organ takes shape, and then for the Open House, when the organ will be featured at the Fisk Shop before it is shipped to Newport to begin assembly. Our 300th Anniversary will be crowned by the arrival of a glorious new ORGAN!

Prayers for 2026
The Episcopal Diocese is posting a series of prayers for 2026 in January, and our very own Noël Bailey Robinson wrote the first one. read from their facebook post here:
“When I started thinking about “my prayer” for 2026, I remembered The Platters singing a hit song from the 50’s, “My prayer is to linger with you.” This could be a song about our relationship with God, but as it continues, it is obviously about human, romantic relationships. Our love for each other is a reflection of God’s love for us and ours for God, so this song could be seen as about divine love, not only about the feelings we have for each other. It ends, “that you will be there at the end of my prayer.” And God is there, always.
“God of grace and mercy: My prayer is that each of us, every one of us, knows the depth, the power, of your love for us. May we see in Jesus that your mercy and forgiveness are stronger and more abundant than our wrongdoing. May we always turn to you with thanks and repentance and know ourselves forgiven and loved.
May your grace fill us with joy and peace knowing that we are your Beloved, and give us countless opportunities to, live as your Beloved, so that we, and everyone, will know the abundance of your love for us. We ask this in your Holy Name.”
- The Rev. Noël Bailey Robinson (she/her)

Celebrating Trinity's Tricentennial Year
The Trinity300 Committee has been at work, for two years, preparing to honor our history, our treasures, our traditions, our campus and our landmark sanctuary—and share it all with Newport and our many expected visitors.
If you would like to help make this wonderful programming possible, please consider “$300 for 300” or any amount that may be appropriate for you. A donation link is available on our website, or you can send a check to the church with "Trinity 300" in the memo line.
Thank you and Happy 300!
| | Upcoming Events and Ministry Opportunities | | A message from Norman MacLeod about Wild Worship: Saturday, January 24 looks to be bright, sunny and cold. We have a place to warm up and to gather for reflections and closing prayers. I'm working on hot drinks! Please join us if you are able, bundled up with winter footwear. This is a great opportunity to encounter the presence of God as revealed in wild and wild-ish places, as the Earth rests and hardy creatures make their way into this hearty and magnificent world! | |

We continue collections for Lucy's Hearth, this week. Lucy's Hearth is a 24-hour emergency and transitional shelter in Newport County serving children and their families who are experiencing homelessness. We have supported Lucy's Hearth many times through our Pumpkin Patch, and they have a list of food needs that are tailored to families in particular. If you can bring any of the items from this list to church with you in the coming weeks, we will be sure to deliver the food to Lucy's Hearth. If you have questions about this effort, please email Diane Myers.

Music at Trinity
The Newport String Project will perform on Febraury 8th at 3 pm in Honyman Hall in part of the Music at Trinity Series.
This program will feature the project’s resident ensemble, the Newport String Quartet, performing works by Mozart, Jimenez, Washington and Roustom.
This colorful program is a musical celebration of childhood, playfulness and memory. Inspired by the Jamestown Arts Center’s upcoming exhibit “Picturing Play”, the Newport String Quartet will perform an eclectic set of works that draw inspiration from children’s folk songs from Mexico, Haiti, Afghanistan, Mali, Syria and Ghana. Closer to home, Shelley Washington’s evocative Middleground depicts her memories of travelling cross country with family gathering memories of cycling, fireworks and ice-cream. The quartet will also perform Mozart’s beloved String Quartet in B-flat “The Hunt” which brims with optimism and delight. This heartwarming afternoon of chamber music is not to be missed.
Tickets available here.
