The Twenty-second Sunday after Pentecost

November 16, 2025,

8 AM and 10 AM Worship

A message from the Rector

As some of you may have heard already, Molly Chamberlain has stepped down as the Parish Administrator at Trinity. Today is her last day in the office.

Molly stepped into this role in a wild moment of transition at Trinity Church: during Holy Week, after the rector had left, and before the Interim Rector had started. With only the help of other incredible Trinity volunteers she dove right in, and has been serving us faithfully ever since. Molly is ready to turn her full attention to her family as they enter a period of transition, and we fully understand and support her decision to do so!

I feel so fortunate to have had these last few months with Molly as she helped me become accustomed to life in the Trinity office. We have shared many moments of laughter together, and she has offered me such sincere support. She didn't want a fuss, but I can't let this moment go by without acknowledging her good work. So Molly THANK YOU for caring for this church for the last 18 months, and for showing up so fully in this role despite all the twists and turns of your tenure. We are so grateful for you, and we look forward to seeing you from the pew on Sundays!

Alison Hosford, who occasionally joins us at Trinity with the choir, will be stepping in temporarily to fill the role of Parish Administrator through the new year, when we will have time to devote to filling the position more permanently.

With gratitude,

Meaghan

To the Trinity Fellowship,

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for the opportunity to learn how a Church works. It has been an honor to work with the dedicated members of Trinity. The volunteers and fellowships have been amazing. The clergy, vestry, executive committee and musicians welcomed me, guided me and have been very patient while I learned all things, Trinity Newport. I look forward to seeing Trinity grow and celebrate its historical 300th year milestone under Meaghan's pastoral guidance.

Gratefully Yours,

Molly Chamberlain

Special Announcments

In Memoriam: Dr. Odie William Hilton Jr.

Longtime and faithful parishioner of Trinity Church, Bill Hilton, died on Monday, November 10th. Please join us in prayer for his family and in thanksgiving for his wonderful life and the love he shared with our Trinity family and those around him. An excerpt from his obituary, reads: "Dr. Hilton’s life was guided by faith, perseverance, and a deep belief in the potential of every individual. Trinity Episcopal Church in Newport held a special place in his heart. He was deeply proud to serve as a member of the congregation and was honored as the first person of color to serve on the church’s vestry in its 300-year history."

Please join us in prayer for his family and in thanksgiving for his life of service to this church and to this community.

His funeral service will take place at Trinity Church on Saturday, November 15, at 10 a.m.

Stewardship Season

The temperature has fallen, and the pumpkins are filling Queen Anne Square… that can only mean one thing: it’s Pledge Season!

We center our pledge drive this year on words that we sing every week as our offerings are brought to the altar: we “praise God from whom all blessings flow”. We believe that all we have and know and love are God-given gifts. Those gifts flow to and through us - like rain that waters the earth and collects into rivers that run to the sea, we are a part of the blessing that nourishes us, and all that we touch.

We’ve been much blessed this year - with a completed campus and a wonderful Rector. Now we need to work together to ensure that those blessings continue to flow beyond ourselves.

Thanks,

Terry

Last Call for Entries!

The Craft Group has been meeting faithfully on Tuesday afternoons to ready their wares for the Silver Tea, but before you see this year’s creations, you still have the opportunity to bring home something special!

The crafters will welcome your donations for entries into a special drawing for this year’s Advent Calendar. This wooden calendar will be on display each coffee hour from now until November 16th, when the winner will be drawn during coffee hour. You need not be present to win!

The suggested donation is $5 per entry, or 3 entries for $10.00.

Of course, we thank you for your support! -The Silver Tea Crafters

Trinity’s Annual Silver Tea is Around the Corner!

Our Christmas in Newport event, Trinity’s Annual Silver Tea, is just around the corner, December 6th, 1-4 PM in the Hawes Room. We are hoping that once again, you will be able to help us to ensure its success!

The craft group that has been meeting on Tuesday afternoons is finishing up, but will come together again on Tuesday, November 25th at 12:30 to finish polishing silver. Join us!

Should you have any crafts that you have completed at home, we ask that you bring them in by Thursday, December 4th. Homemade jellies and jams are also much appreciated.

There are now sign-up sheets located on the piano in Hawes Room. We are looking for contributions in the form of tea sandwiches, finger desserts and holiday cookies. Your help in this area is so crucial! Baked goods can be dropped off on Friday or Saturday, and sandwiches on Saturday morning.

And we are especially in search of fresh cut greens from parishioner’s yards! Please let us know if you can help in this way. We can cut or pickup!

Finally, and most importantly, if you do nothing else, plan to visit Trinity on December 6th!
