A message from the Rector
In my sermon last week I mentioned that many members of our parish had asked about doing a food drive at Trinity, and that because they had asked they might find themselves the newest members of a Trinity Outreach Team. Yesterday evening we had our first team meeting, and a wonderful group of people gathered to talk through some food drive options.
The team will meet in January for a more robust meeting, and to intentionally think through additional outreach efforts we might take part in next year. If you have interest in joining this team, please email Elizabeth Stevens. We are specifically looking for people with grant writing experience or who would enjoy volunteer coordination.
In the meantime, Diane Myers has been in touch with Lucy's Hearth, a 24-hour emergency and transitional shelter in Newport County serving children and their families who are experiencing homelessness. We have supported Lucy's Hearth many times through our Pumpkin Patch, and they have a list of food needs that are tailored to families in particular. If you can bring any of the items from this list to church with you in the coming weeks, we will be sure to deliver the food to Lucy's Hearth. If you have questions about this effort, please email Diane Myers.
For years we have provided an ongoing Community Meal in the Hawes Room on the 1st, 4th, and 5th Monday of every month. We will be providing several meals around the holidays, and your presence and service at this meal is always welcome. You can sign up online to help, or contact D'Arcy Carr for more information.
There are many ways we can be part of doing God's work in this community and in this world, and I continue to be grateful that I am doing that work with all of you.
With gratitude,
Meaghan

Stewardship Season
Our 2026 Pledge Campaign is in full swing. We hope you saw our mailings or messages over the last week inviting you to make your pledge to support the ministry of Trinity Church in 2026. Our Pledge Ingathering will take place on December 7th, which will give us the opportunity to bring our pledges to God as an offering in worship.
If you have not yet pledged, we would be grateful for your participation. Pledge cards can be found in the back of the church or you can pledge online.

Trinity’s Annual Silver Tea is Around the Corner!
Our Christmas in Newport event, Trinity’s Annual Silver Tea, is just around the corner, December 6th, 1-4 PM in the Hawes Room. We are hoping that once again, you will be able to help us to ensure its success!
The craft group that has been meeting on Tuesday afternoons is finishing up, but will come together again on Tuesday, November 25th at 12:30 to finish polishing silver. Join us!
Should you have any crafts that you have completed at home, we ask that you bring them in by Thursday, December 4th. Homemade jellies and jams are also much appreciated.
There are now sign-up sheets located on the piano in Hawes Room. We are looking for contributions in the form of tea sandwiches, finger desserts and holiday cookies. Your help in this area is so crucial! Baked goods can be dropped off on Friday or Saturday, and sandwiches on Saturday morning.
And we are especially in search of fresh cut greens from parishioner’s yards! Please let us know if you can help in this way. We can cut or pickup!
Finally, and most importantly, if you do nothing else, plan to visit Trinity on December 6th!
