The Seventeenth Sunday After Pentecost, October 5, 2025,

8 AM and 10 AM Worship

A message from the Rector

This morning when I arrived at work I glanced up towards our spire, which has become a habit for me of late, and was met with a welcome surprise. The tip top of the spire had been returned, freshly restored, and the scaffolding closest to the clouds was already starting to come down!

Last week I was lucky enough to make the climb up to the top of the scaffolding. I wanted to see the work that was being done, and I couldn't resist standing alongside the clock I've craned my neck to see my whole life.

Christopher (pictured below) gave me an in depth tour, explaining the process of repairing and replacing and painting all of areas of the steeple that were in need of repair. All those brave workers climb up there every day and get to painting as casually as if they were on ground level. You can see in the picture below the extent of the rot on parts of the tower.

The view from the top was stunning, albeit a little terrifying. When I made my way back to solid ground I found myself tremendously grateful that the Landmark Preservation Fund makes this important restoration work possible.

In a matter of days our landscape will be filled with another view equally as exciting as the scaffolding: PUMPKINS! Please come on Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. to help us unload, and then come and be part of another important way that we love and serve God in this beautiful city!

With gratitude,

Meaghan
