East Lakeview Neighbors is pleased to accept applications for community grants that strengthen and support nonprofit work within the East Lakeview neighborhood. Eligible applicants may include organizations working in the areas of education, social services, public safety, arts and culture, environmental initiatives, technology, green space, and community enhancement.
Grant awards range up to $2,500 per organization.
Note: Grant funds may not be used for political fundraising.

Chicago Comics was founded in 1986 with a clear mission: to bring one of the largest and most comprehensive comic book selections to the Chicagoland area. Specializing in small press, hard-to-find indie titles, and manga, the shop also carries most available mainstream releases, offers special and pre-orders, and features an extensive collection of merchandise celebrating comics, manga, nerd culture, and art. The store also boasts a massive backstock collection, with drawers filled to the brim and additional inventory in the basement, and staff are always happy to help track down hard-to-find issues or check stock by email. The back of the store is dedicated to independent comics publishing, where visitors can explore some of the most diverse and unconventional voices in the industry. From publishers like Fantagraphics and Drawn & Quarterly to local creators, small press, and self-published works, this section showcases the breadth and creativity of independent comics in the back half of the shop. Come visit this funky neighborhood shop, and discover a new hobby!
