This past Sunday, the streets of Lakeview East came alive for Chicago's most vibrant tradition, the Chicago Pride Parade! We were incredibly proud to once again have a float representing the Lakeview East community and celebrating the neighborhood's long-standing commitment to the LGBTQ+ community.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our amazing sponsors and everyone who walked alongside us in the parade. Your support made our participation possible, and we couldn't have done it without you. With more than a million people gathering from across Chicago and beyond to celebrate love, inclusion, and equality, it was an unforgettable day.
While Pride Month may have come to a close, our commitment to the LGBTQ+ community never does. Lakeview East is proud to be home to the highest concentration of LGBTQ+-owned businesses in Chicago, and supporting this vibrant, diverse community is part of who we are, every day of the year. From July 10-12, Broadway will be shut down to traffic and open to FUN! Our second Dine Out on Broadway of the year is taking place from Broadway to Wellington, all weekend long. Patios will extend onto the street, we will have cornhole and giant connect four and bingo set up, sidewalk chalk, and some fun entertainment:

One of Lakeview's favorite annual traditions is back! The Lakeview East Festival of the Arts returns the third weekend of September, transforming Broadway into a vibrant celebration of art, music, and community.
On Saturday, September 19, and Sunday, September 20, more than 150 juried artists from across the country will showcase original paintings, sculptures, photography, jewelry, clothing, and other one-of-a-kind works. Beyond the incredible artwork, festivalgoers can enjoy two live music stages, a wide variety of food and beverage vendors, and a dedicated Kids Zone, making it a fun-filled weekend for all ages.

After 81 years tied to Belmont Avenue, Ann Sather’s Belmont chapter has come to a close. From Swedish pancakes and cozy brunches to cinnamon rolls that deserve their own zoning designation, Ann Sather has been a part of Lakeview’s story for generations. The good news: this is not goodbye. The Broadway location remains open for all cinnamon roll related emergencies.

Tilly Bagel Shop has officially opened its third location, bringing its beloved house-made Chicago-style bagels to the neighborhood.Every bagel is baked fresh in-house, with flavors ranging from classics like Plain, Everything, and Sesame to creative favorites like Cheesy Garlic, Garlic Rosemary, Cheddar, Cacio e Pepe, Cinnamon, Chocolate Chip, Tilly Crisp (chili), Tomato Grilled Cheese, and the signature Chicago bagel, topped with poppy seeds, mustard seeds, celery seeds, onion, dill, and giardiniera seasoning. Plus, there's always a rotating Bagel of the Week, so there's something new to try with every visit.
