Tucked at the corner of Roscoe and Sheffield, just half a mile from Wrigley Field, Penny's Noodle Shop has been serving comforting, authentic Thai cuisine for decades. Founder Penny arrived in Chicago from Bangkok in 1977 with family recipes and culinary techniques passed down from her mother. Though she originally planned to return to Thailand after college, Chicago diners are fortunate she chose to stay.
Today, guests can settle into the cozy dining room, complete with table seating and a kitchen bar where you can watch each dish come to life, or opt for carryout and enjoy at home. The expansive menu features flavorful appetizers, soups, fresh salads, and dozens of noodle specialties, making it easy to enjoy a satisfying three- or four-course meal without stretching your budget. Clearly marked vegetarian, gluten-free, and spice-level options ensure a seamless dining experience for every guest.
