The infamous Graham Crackers Comics has recently moved, but don't worry, they are still in Lakeview East! They left Broadway and shuffled on over to Sheffield. Go say hi to the team and check out the new location. It's right down the street from the Vic, so you L train commuters have a short and sweet walk!

Urgent Call for Donations to Support the Migrant Crisis in Chicago
The migrant crisis continues to unfold in Chicago, it is crucial that we come together as a community to support those in need. The Lakeview East Chamber office as well as numerous community partners are stepping up to serve as a drop-off location for essential items that can greatly improve the lives of migrant children and adults. Your contributions can make a significant difference in providing comfort and relief to those affected by this humanitarian crisis.

By donating these essential items, we can bring comfort, security, and a sense of hope to those who need it most. Please drop off your contributions at the Lakeview East Chamber office (3138 N. Broadway Tuesday - Friday from 10AM - 4PM) or to any of our community partners, as your generosity will go a long way in making a positive impact on the lives of these vulnerable individuals. Together, we can stand in solidarity and show compassion for those experiencing these challenging circumstances.
State law now requires every Illinois employer with five or more employees to offer their own retirement program or facilitate Secure Choice. Program deadlines are based on employer size but there is no need to wait, you can register with the program today! Employers who do not meet their required deadlines may be subject to enforcement, including financial penalties. What is Illinois Secure Choice?

▪ Participating employees save a portion of their pay in an Individual Retirement Account (IRA)
through payroll deduction facilitated by their employer

Beer Flavored Pizza
Quench your thirst and satisfy your hunger simultaneously with beer flavor pizza. No, this is not a hunger-induced dream, it's the latest collaboration between Wrigley Field and Home Run Inn. This eight-inch, non-alcoholic sausage pizza with a wheat ale flavor will be available at concession stands in Wrigley Field for the rest of the season! The frat boy of pizzas will also be sold at select Home Run Inn restaurants, according to WGN. Step out of your comfort zone and give it a try next time you're at the ballpark. Cheers!

Bamboo Club on WGN TV

Last week, Wrigleyville's Bamboo Club was featured on WGN TV! They showed off the space, over-the-top decorations, and cocktails that will make you think you're on an island paradise. Formally known as Deuce's MLB Bar, Bamboo Club is a tiki-inspired bar and lounge. Sip out of a shark head, dip your feet in the pool, and swing while relaxing. Bringing a taste of the tropics to the heart of the city, Bamboo Club is a fun escape from reality.


Looking for a honky-tonk good time? This Saturday, Gallagher Way is hosting Boot Scoot USA's Country Dance Party! Gates open at 6:30pm, with live Country DJs spinning your 90s favorites and line dancing kicking off at 7pm. The Country Dance Party is free and open to all ages! Don't forget your cowboy hats and cowboy boots.

Minimum Wage Increase
Every July 1, Chicago’s minimum wage increases per the Minimum Wage Ordinance. The Chicago minimum wage is tiered for large businesses with 21 or more employees, and small businesses with 4 to 20 employees. The minimum wage for larger employees increases annually according to the Consumer Price Index or 2.5%, whichever is lower.
The minimum wage as of July 1, 2023, will be:
$15.80 for employers with 21 or more employees (including all domestic workers, regardless of the number employed)
$15.00 for employers with 4 to 20 employees
The minimum wage for tipped employees will be $9.48 for employers with 21 or more employees, and $9.00 for employers with 4 to 20 employees (employers must make up the difference between any tips received and the applicable minimum wage for non-tipped workers.)
