Happening on Sunday, October 12th this year, the 47th Annual Bank of America Chicago Marathon is going to hit the ground running. This year brings an important change: for the first time ever, street closures will begin at 6 am on marathon morning. Be sure to plan ahead for travel, parking, and access around the course. Whether you're a participant, a volunteer, or a supportive spectator, it's going to be a day filled with energy, determination, and community pride. | | |

If you're familiar with Lakeview East, you must be familiar with Nancy's Pizza. This pie shop has lived proudly on Broadway since the 80s, with a huge glowing sign that has been displaying that they are home of the original stuffed pizza! While this remains true, Nancy's Pizza is now under new management and has gotten a complete transformation. Staying true to being the king of stuffed pizza, Nancy's now has a full service bar, whipping up cocktails, wine, beer, and plenty of NA options. Other than pizza, guests can enjoy fresh pastas, healthy salads, and classic sides like fries, tomato bread, chicken wings, and more! Finish dessert with a cannoli, the way pizza night was intended.

Empower Hour: Klein’s Bakery & Cafe
September 18th 2025, 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm
In honor and recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from September 15 to October 15, this month’s Empower Hour will feature BACP Chief Small Business Officer Lotika Pai chatting with Jessica Klein and Dayana Klein, Owners of Klein’s Bakery & Cafe.
Klein’s Bakery & Cafe, a Venezuelan Bakery and Cafe, is owned by two passionate sisters chasing their dreams in creating the most beautiful and delicious pastries. Thanks to their abuela (grandmother), they learned how to bake and decorate cakes at a very young age. Soon after, a small hobby quickly turned into a very big passion. They now have locations in Uptown, Lakeview East and Lincoln Park offering custom cakes, coffee, breakfast, and pastries inspired from Venezuela.
The candid conversation will cover the start and growth of the business, site selection, product development and cultural influence. The webinar will end with a Q&A for attendees to ask questions.
