Lakeview East Festival of the Arts | September 13 + 14
The countdown is on- we are just 16 days away from our largest event of the year! The Lakeview East Festival of the Arts is back and bigger than ever, bringing an extraordinary weekend of art, entertainment, and community. This year is extra special, as it's the 20th Anniversary of this legendary festival!
For one weekend only, Broadway turns into a massive open-air art gallery featuring over 120 incredible juried artists from across the country. From stunning paintings and sculptures to photography, jewelry, and one-of-a-kind furniture, you’ll find pieces to fall in love with, no matter your style or budget. But this festival is way more than just art. Think live art demos, multiple entertainment stages, a kid zone a chill garden oasis, and endless eats and drinks to keep the party going.
For two decades, the Lakeview East Chamber of Commerce has brought together artists, musicians, and makers for one of Chicagoland’s most iconic festivals, and this year’s milestone celebration will be the biggest yet. Mark your calendars, grab your crew, and come experience 20 years of creativity, culture, and community, right here in the heart of Lakeview!

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes of a Chicago street festival? Curious how it all comes together, or just love art, community, and a good time? We’re looking for volunteers to help bring this year’s Art Festival to life! It’s a fun, hands on way to get involved, meet new people, and support the local creative scene.
Volunteer roles include everything from greeting guests at the gates and booth-sitting for artists to helping with setup and more. No experience needed—just bring your energy and love for the arts! Mexican Independence Day falls on Tuesday, September 16th this year, and we can not think of a better way to celebrate than with tequila at a family-owned Mexican restaurant. El Mariachi Tequila Bar & Grill is hosting our September Lakeview East Supper Club, with Don Fulano Tequila! With three courses, three margaritas, AND a tequila flight, this is a fiesta you do not want to miss. El Mariachi has been a neighborhood staple since 1996, providing patrons with an authentic Mexican experience and serving family recipes that have been passed down for generations! Come taste tradition on the beautiful, spacious patio! This event is 21+ and gluten-free, vegetarian, and dietary restrictions can all be accommodated.
Tickets are $79, which includes three courses, three margaritas, a tequila flight, tax, and tip.

Starter: Flor de Calabaza Rellena
Zucchini blossom filled with queso panela. Battered, fried, and served over a silky avocado mousse.
Paired with: Avocado mango margarita
Main: Chile En Nogada
Roasted poblano pepper stuffed with a savory, sweet blend of ground beef and fresh fruit. Topped with a creamy walnut sauce. Sprinkled with pomegranate seeds and finished with fresh herbs.

It’s Labor Day weekend, and the forecast is calling for mid-70s, sunshine, and plenty of local neighborhood fun! Skip the commuter traffic and enjoy the long weekend in your favorite neighborhood. From cookouts to drag shows, we’ve got it all.
Join the annual tradition on Labor Day, the WOOGMS Parade! A parade where everyone marches and no one watches. The parade kicks off at 11 am at the corner of Wellington and Pine Grove. March the route, then stick around to see the phenomenal Jesse White Tumblers perform! All ages are welcome, and participation is free.

The East Lakeview Neighbors proudly present their 25th Annual Oktoberfest, a lively celebration to mark the end of summer. This beloved community event features live music, traditional German fare (including vegetarian options), a festive pig roast, beer, wine, punch, and plenty of Gemütlichkeit to carry everyone into the colder months.
Happening on September 20th, from 3:30 to 7:30 pm at Murphy's Bleachers

Kpop Merch by Choc Choc is moving (But don't worry, they are staying in Lakeview).
It was just last May that Choc Choc Cosmetics opened up its new concept- Kpop Merch by Choc Choc. This boutique shop is a one-stop shop for all things Kpop, from records, light sticks, keychains, notebooks, to collectible playing cards. This niche shop immediately skyrocketed in popularity and just announced that they will be moving locations, from 608 W Briar Place, to its new home at 3009 N Broadway (just two blocks away)! This new home is going to be bigger, brighter, and will be able to carry more merch. A huge congratulations to the Kpop Merch by Choc Choc team! The new location will be opening at Friday, September 5th.

Last year, Wrigleyville Wonderland was missing just one key player: the beloved Christkindlmarket. But fear not, it’s making a joyful return to Gallagher Way this winter!
Rooted in centuries-old German tradition, the Christkindlmarket is famous for its iconic candy cane-striped wooden huts, festive shopping, and cozy holiday atmosphere.
