With a diverse range of original pieces available for sale, there’s something for every taste and budget.
But the festival is more than just an art show—it’s a dynamic hub of excitement for the entire weekend! Experience live demonstrations that bring the creative process to life, groove to the beats on our entertainment stages, enjoy family-friendly activities and unwind in our serene garden oasis. This Year’s Featured Artist: Meet Greta Sandquist
Every year, we choose one piece of art to center the show around, done by one of the artists attending the festival. This year, the featured piece of work is done by Greta Sandquist! This years featured piece is titled Ethos Meets Reality. Greta trained as an illustrator and worked in commercial art for 15 years before following her heart into her true passion of painting in 2010. She began selling her work at art fairs and local galleries and shops, and occasionally doing commission work. Greta has been fortunate to have had amazing mentors along the path of her creative life, from fantastic high school art teachers to painting classes that truly inspired her. But ultimately, she is primarily self-taught. She has developed her distinctive style through intuition and much trial and error.

We still have a few tickets left for our Supper Club with The Lanzaga on Tuesday, August 13th! The event will be hosted by the fabulous Gina Belle, a beloved Chicago drag queen known for her vibrant performances. Below is the delectable menu prepared for the evening, so come hungry! Additionally, The Lanzaga is BYOB, so don’t forget to bring your favorite drinks to enjoy with your meal.

Last week, Amici (3933 N Broadway) made headlines after popular food critic Keith Lee paid a visit and boasted about the delicious arancini Amici is known for! The current TikTok has an astonishing 9 million views, and the Instagram video has over 59,000. Lee ends the video by giving Alfio $3000 to pay for future customers and a $1,000 tip to the owner and chef, Alfio Sciacca. Ever since the videos were posted, Amici has a line out the door and has been selling out every day before 4 pm.
Back in February, we had the pleasure of interviewing Sciacca and learned so much about him. Amici means Friends in Italian, but it also represents all the cultures the menu is inspired by: African, Mexican, Italian, Chinese, and Indian! The star of the show is their arancini, where you can literally hold 5 different cultures in the palm of your hand. It’s important to note every single dish served is made from scratch, from the seasoning used to the risotto. Sciacca grew up in Sicily and brought old-school traditional values with him to Lakeview East when he moved to Chicago 35 years ago. Alfio works five days a week and is a one-man show. He greets you upon arrival, takes your order, cooks your food, and delivers it to your table. The space is small, but that’s on purpose. Mingle with Alfio and the other diners, and you’ll leave feeling like you just left an old friend's house. Being BYOB, bring a bottle of wine and stay a while! Alfio's passion for cooking is prominent in the way he speaks and cooks, and it was a pleasure getting to know him.

The 1/2 mile long summer festival features all-day lineups of live music on 5 stages, 250+ vendors, food and drink, dance exhibitions, drag performances, and more! Market Days takes place on Halsted Street from Belmont to Addison.

Noori Chicken
Noori is renowned for their Korean-style fried chicken with a crispy texture and delicious sauces made fresh daily in the restaurant. This location is the FIRST Noori in Illinois! The interior is set up to make you feel like you are walking through a Korean street market, with a really cool and intricate interior. Although they are known for their fried chicken, veg-heads are not left in the dust! They have Soy Garlic Dumplings, tofu bowls, kimchi fried rice, and so much more. No matter what you order, you have to get a side of the Magic Fries, which are topped with a dry rub cheese powder, tasting sweet and cheesy at the same time. Yum! Located between the Belmont station and Wrigley Field, the convenient location makes it easy to stop in and enjoy inside, or take your delicious Korean fried chicken to go.

Istmo Oaxacan Cuisine
Chef Carlos and GM Juan Carlos are excited to bring a taste of Oaxaca to Lakeview East! Juan Carlos was born and raised in Chicago and is no stranger to the culinary scene as he owns a few other bars and restaurants in Chicago. Chef Carlos is FROM Istmo, a region in Oaxaca, and the story behind the name of this new restaurant. Chef Carlos has been a proud Chicagoan for 7 years and a professional chef for five. This dynamic duo is excited to introduce Lakeview to Oaxacan cuisine, with items like Entomatadas—heirloom corn tortillas filled with cheese and creamy tomato sauce, served with black beans, steak, or Santo Chorizo verde—and Desayuno Istmeño, featuring white rice, Oaxacan beans, seared queso fresco, and fried eggs.. They are only serving brunch and mocktails for now, but plan on doing dinner and drinks soon! In the meantime, diners can pair these Mexican brunch entrees with mocktails that are to die for. Stop by and say hello, try something new, and prepare to become a regular.
