It's Belmont Sheffield Music
Festival Weekend!
Drum roll please... the long wait is finally over. This entire weekend is the 40th annual Belmont Sheffield Music Festival, happening (appropriately) at the corner of Belmont and Sheffield, all the way down to Sheffield and Roscoe, right here in Lakeview East. This festival is the official unoffical kick off to summer, and we invite you to jon us for dancing, singing, shopping, eating, and drinking, in one of Chicago's most beloved neighborhoods. With the hottest headliners, iconic local legends, and festival food that is actually good, we can't think of a better place to celebrate Memorial Day Weekend.
Fri, May 23, 2025 | 5 pm to 10 pm
Sat, May 24, 2025 | 11 am to 10 pm
Sun, May 25, 2025 | 11 am to 10 pm

When attending the Belmont Sheffield Music Festival this weekend, we ask you to kindly make a donation so we can keep street fests like this happening annually.
The Save Our Street Fests initiative is a citywide effort powered by local Chambers and nonprofits who work year-round to make these incredible festivals happen. We’re here to remind folks that these events aren’t bankrolled by the city—they’re funded by the community. That means your donations at the gate don’t just support the music, food, and fun—they keep the heart of our neighborhoods beating all summer long.

Obviously, the hottest thing happening in Chicago this weekend is The Belmont Sheffield Music Fest! The festival ends at 10 pm every night, and we know this neighborhood likes to keep the party going. Check out what's going on before, after, and around the festival, and on Memorial Day itself (Monday, May 26th).

Located at 3214-54 N. Wilton Ave. and owned by the CTA, the parcels have been used for construction-related staging since 2006, including the soon-to-be completed Red-Purple Modernization Phase One project. Consisting of .46 acres, the available land is uniquely situated to provide housing aligned with equitable transit-oriented development (ETOD) goals. The site is valued at approximately $4.26 million.
The CTA expects to make the site available for development in late 2026. The City seeks its redevelopment in accordance with Federal Transit Administration (FTA) regulations, local plans and the development vision presented in the RFP. FTA regulations require not less than 40% of total housing units be restricted to households at or below 60% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
Interested respondents can submit proposals in two ways: through the ChiBlockBuilder.com web site or through the Department of Housing (DOH) Qualified Allocation Plan (QAP) process. Refer to the RFP for submission guidelines and deadlines.
One or more selected development teams will be expected to begin vertical construction by early 2027.
