The book has a lot to say about leading groups and I hope it's a valuable contribution to our craft and profession, yet there are many ways to facilitate meetings and I make no claim that my techniques are always best. I hope that my book starts discussions. Starting now.

Free monthly training in a talk show format

1. Hey Craig, if I miss this Wednesday at 1 will you do it again?

Yes indeed! I plan to do a free Training and Talk Show every Fourth Wednesday of the month at 1pm, US Eastern Time.

2. Does one have to attend them all from the start?

No, not at all. Drop in for any session that works for you. Attend as many as you want.

3. Are they really free?

You bet. I ask for your email address when you register but that's all, and then the first time you get my newsletter you can unsubscribe if you want.

4. How many of these will you do?

I'm planning to do them once a month for as long as it works well and is in demand.

5. Can anyone suggest topics or guests?

You bet! Bring 'em.

What I learned from Monica Guzman

It was so fun to take this picture of Monica Guzman when she visited Bowdoin College last week.

Monica wrote a book called I Never Thought of it That Way (just like the cake that Bowdoin made for her!) and she's a peacemaker on the front lines of the political divide. She's a Senior Fellow at Braver Angels, among many other things.

Here are a few gems I jotted; things that she said.

Curiosity is a form of caring.

People only hear when they are heard.

The internet is a non-place that turns us into non-people.

Heat is okay in a conversation. It depends if you are cooking something or burning something.

The most important thing in a conversation is to have a next one.
