STORM ADVENTURE RACE

What a weekend!

Let's start with a confession: As race directors when you're staring down a weekend where you're going to send 600+ people out to trek, bike and paddle for hours AND the previous week has been nonstop cold and rainy, you get a little (okay, a LOT) nervous. Those finish line smiles we're hoping to create are harder to come by from cold, grumpy racers. So, you plan for the worst, hope for the best and sometimes...

...you GET the Best!

Saturday's early misty chill faded away and it turned into a great day for adventure racing. Sunday? Even better.

Fewer hills than last year (you're welcome) but Tiffin Centre and surrounding area provided a great playground for a day of adventure!

Any feedback, please connect with us on socials or info@stormrace.ca. We worked hard to create a great race experience for you and hope we succeeded. We wanted smiles and we saw lots of them!

We had experienced adventure racers and beginners. Siblings racing with AND against each other. Teams of families & teams of friends. Close battles right to the finish line, including an Advanced course margin of victory of only 8 seconds!

We even had Sam, a local Angus dog who wanted to be a part of the fun on the river. Special shout out to the team that rescued the shivering pooch, gave him a canoe ride and ensured he found his way back to his people.

Pics or it didn't happen, right?

Oh, we've got your pics, all thanks to the BEST photography team. How many pics, you ask? Only 6,287 pictures! Hope you were smiling.

Head to our Flickr page and find your race moments. Apologies for the poor search tools, but we've tried to organize the albums by day. Special thanks to photographers; Luis Moreira, Mae Pankhurst, Derek Carpenter, Geoff Allen, plus other race staff & volunteers who were all over the course capturing some fantastic imagery!

When you share pics on your socials (and we know you will), please remember to TAG us (IG @stormracingevents FB @stormracing).

Pro Tip: When your friends see your race pics and comment "Whoa, that's looks cool", the correct response is "Yes, it's amazing. You need to do it next time!". We want to see you all back next year and bringing more racers!

A strong team or it DOESN'T happen, right?

A special thanks to all the volunteers who came out and supported participants over a great weekend of racing. With more than 600 racers to keep track of, everyone pitched in to ensure all made it home safely and were cheered on along the way!

Great support or it CAN'T happen, right?

A weekend like Storm doesn't happen without the support of organizations, land-owners, and sponsors.

Thanks to Tiffin Centre and the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority, Drysdale's Tree Farm, Simcoe County and Essa Township for letting us play in their backyards. Thanks to Algonquin Outfitters for prizing and supplying the SMALL NAVY of canoes. Thanks to Harmon's Craft Brewing and Squirt Cycling Products for prizing and support and thanks to our caterers Cookies by Gia who had your delicious post-race meal ready for you.

What's next? Make it happen!

Wouldn't you like to know! We've got some ideas in mind (FYI, course designers are NEVER not thinking about race courses). Working on getting registration open in a few months and announcing a host site after that. We'll be a little busy with our other events until then.

I hope you're enjoying a few days of well-earned rest & recovery before gearing up for your next summer adventures! We can't wait to welcome you all to the 2026 Storm Adventure Race!

All the best,

Bob Miller & the Storm Team
