The Governing Board has voted to hold a Special General Conference on 10th October 2026. The only items for consideration at this online Business Meeting will be the recommendations from the Commission on General Conference.
Discussion Circles are an extremely valuable way that you can give feedback on bylaw proposals, motions and other items of business, in a less formal setting, before the Special General Conference. Anyone involved in MCC can participate in the Discussion Circles. However it is particularly important that Lay Delegates, Clergy and other delegates with vote and/or voice attend at least one Discussion Circle. Items to be discussed will be sent out in a Discussion Pack by 1st June, prior to the Discussion Circles starting.
Notes from each session will be shared on the Special General Conference page after each Discussion Circle, (allowing time for translation as needed), so that you can see what was said in all the Discussion Circles. This feedback will also be shared with those proposing Bylaw amendments and motions, so that they can consider making any changes, in light of your feedback.
The Business Meeting pack will contain the final versions of Bylaw proposals and motions, once the feedback from Discussion Circles has been reviewed and any changes made in consequence. This Business Pack will be issued by the end of August, for the Special General Conference and the Forum, so that Lay Delegates can consult with their congregations.
The following dates for Discussion circles have been set in consultation with input from Network leaders, MCC staff and others around the world. You can attend any Discussion Circle and you may attend more than one. In fact, participating in a Discussion Circle that targets a different time zone provides an opportunity for you to connect with others in our global community.
