With a degree from the Culinary Institute of America, Alex Dunn was making the rounds of food service positions. But she was still searching for something more. “I want a career where I feel like I am contributing to something bigger than just a corporation, and I feel it here,” she says of court reporting.

More than 120 students from across the country gathered in Houston, Texas, this summer for the NCRA Conference & Expo. For many new students, especially those studying online, this was their first opportunity to meet other students and reporters in person. For all of them, it was a chance to make connections.

NCRF Student Intern Scholarship now open
Nominations are now open for the NCRF Student Intern Scholarship. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to high-achieving court reporting or captioning students who have completed the internship portion of their education. Applicants are nominated by their school and must fulfill scholarship requirements, including writing a short essay.
