ADULT COURSE

Photography, History, and Fashion

Wednesday, January 15, 6:00 – 7:00 PM

Join esteemed art historian David Little and acclaimed photographer Quil Lemons in a thought-provoking discussion on how the iPhone, social media, and new conceptions of identity have transformed fashion photography today.

Special guest Lemons creates a distinct visual language to examine "ideas around masculinity, family, queerness, race and beauty." A contributor to Vanity Fair, The New York Times Magazine, and i-D magazine, Lemons has photographed cultural icons such as Billie Eilish, Spike Lee, and Pamela Anderson.

From glossy magazine spreads to the immediacy of Instagram, discover how technology has blurred the lines between professional and amateur, changing the visual language of fashion and image making in the 21st century.

This program completes our lecture series organized in conjunction with the KMA's exhibition Jonathan Becker: Lost Time, closing on January 26.

Adult $30 / Member $25
