Social sciences and humanities researchers are generating valuable insights when it comes to productivity. Learn more about these experts and how their cutting-edge research is helping address one of the nation’s top priorities. 

New Knowledge Synthesis Grants to help expand our understanding of governance systems 

Over $1.4 million has been awarded through 50 Knowledge Synthesis Grants, The funded projects will explore the topic of “Envisioning Governance Systems that Work.” They will tackle a variety of issues, such as governance of climate change adaptation in Canada, ensuring ethical and accountable governance of artificial intelligence, and rethinking global frameworks to address health emergencies.

We heard you: Feedback received on the Tri-Agency Research Data Management Policy

Read the new report summarizing feedback received about the data deposit requirement of the Tri-Agency Research Data Management Policy. The goal is to support a robust research data management environment in Canada that aligns with international best practices and the FAIR (findability, accessibility, interoperability and reusability) guiding principles for scientific data.

Introducing the Indigenous Innovation and Leadership in Research Network Grants

A new funding opportunity has been established to build on Indigenous Knowledge systems and Indigenous ontology, epistemology and methodology. With a total investment of $19 million over four years, these grants are specifically for Métis, First Nations and Indigenous not-for-profit organizations and postsecondary institutions. 

SSHRC representation at 2025 Lindau meeting in economic sciences

From August 26 to 30, the 8th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting in Economic Sciences brought together 20 economic laureates to exchange ideas with the next generation of scientists from all over the world. Four SSHRC-funded scholars attended the prestigious meeting and traded ideas with leading and emerging researchers.
