Signing Off for 2025: Reflections, Photos, and Thanks

Dear Valued Volunteers:

As we move forward together in service of our mission, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for each of you. The support you have shown—toward me, AACY, and especially our students—has been nothing short of extraordinary. Reflecting on my time with AACY and on the countless ways you’ve brightened the lives of our Caregiving Youth fills me with immense appreciation.

Your dedication continues to inspire me.

The time you offer, the patience you show, the stories you share, and the encouragement you give create a lasting impact on the young people we serve. Your presence reminds them that they are seen, valued, and supported. You model compassion in action, and the lessons you impart reach far beyond the classroom or program space.

This newsletter is a celebration of you—of your generosity, your spirit, and the unforgettable moments you help bring to life. Each accomplishment we highlight is a direct reflection of your commitment and heart.

Thank you for uplifting our students and for reminding us of the power of community.

Wishing you a wonderful Holiday season and a Happy New Year!

With heartfelt appreciation,

The AACY Team &

Bina Martin, Volunteer Manager

Celebrating Our Indispensable Office Volunteers

I would like to take a minute and give a special shout and a BIG THANK YOU to our 2 office volunteers that have supported us tremendously during this past year. Michelle Mohan and Dan Heskin have been extremely helpful with just about everything. Your support has not gone unnoticed by me, Amoy, and the AACY Team.

I cannot thank you both enough for everything you have done to make my life easier, including the countless hours of volunteer work that you have done on weekends and in the evenings.

AACY was fortunate to receive a mini-grant at the end of July from United Way to help with the recruitment of new Mentors and celebrate our existing Mentors and Mentees. Here are some highlights from these events.

Mentor Events | Cox Science Center

A day of fun at the Cox Science Center.

Mentor Events | Cirque du Soleil

Deborah and her mentor Marieliana, who had been matched for over a year, got to enjoy a wonderful night at Cirque Du Soleil before Marieliana went off to her new adventure of being accepted into medical school.

Mentor Events | Marlins Game

They experienced the Brightline train; none of the mentees have ever been to a professional baseball game before this! Dan, our office volunteer, graciously chaperoned the event.

Mentor Events | Boomer’s

We also had a mentor–mentee event in September. It was a fun-filled day at Boomer’s and then the Cheesecake Factory in Boca Raton. Michelle, our office volunteer, and her husband Michael, assisted in chaperoning the event.

Mentor Recruitment & Appreciation

In September 2025, we also had a mentor recruitment event to solicit new mentors and celebrate our current mentors for the MACY Program at Seasons52.

Our volunteers came out in full force for the various events we had, including:

Community Servant Leadership Event

Balloon Inflating Party

We had a great time blowing up a few hundred balloons for decorations for the awards ceremony. I can always count on Denise C to bring her friends anytime I need extra hands.

AACY Turkey Delivery

Thank you to everyone who helped out with the AACY Turkey Delivery this year. It was a huge success! From our donors to all of our volunteers and interns who assisted in delivering turkeys to our families, and to Michael Mohan for capturing all of the wonderful pictures.

I want to extend a special thank you to Michelle Mohan for helping me get all of the details organized and assisting Amoy on the day of our turkey delivery.

As we come to the end of this year, I want to extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of our volunteers. Your time, energy, and dedication have made all the difference. Your contributions have brought all the effort for AACY to life, and we simply couldn’t have done it without you.

Thank you for showing up, for supporting our mission, and for giving so generously of yourselves. We are truly grateful, and we hope you feel proud of the impact you have helped create. We look forward to working together again in the New Year.

With heartfelt appreciation, Thank You.
