True Prayer: 

Behold the Silent, Sacred Self!

Most of us who have engaged in an active prayer practice for many years have noticed that our understanding of prayer has evolved as our consciousness has expanded. In the same way, we have observed that there are many levels and layers of prayer, the most superficial level being sourced in words and the experience of Waking Consciousness. What must happen in consciousness in order for prayer to deepen? How exactly do we move from the shallows of Waking Consciousness into the depths of “Unified” Consciousness so that our prayers may effect positive change in the outer world?

These are questions that Charles Fillmore, co-founder of Unity has explored in depth, and has shared with us in his many books and treatises on The Silence. Yet over time, much of this invaluable information has been misunderstood and misapplied. The good news is that true prayer is both natural and effortless – if you pursue it, as Charles did, with zeal, devotion, and absolute surrender.
