Pudimos presentar nuestros comentarios en torno al PC 1119 sobre Cannabis en una vista pública con el Hon. Orlando Aponte, Hon. Héctor Ferrer Santiago, y la Lcda. Lisie Burgos Muñiz.

Reunión sobre la Economía de Puerto Rico

El pasado viernes nos reunimos con el Subsecretario Don Graves,la Administradora de EDA Alejandra Y. Castillo, la Directora Asociada de Relaciones Públicas y a los Territorios Gretchen Sierra-Zorita y la Directora de la Oficina de Asuntos Intergubernamentales Julie Chávez por para discutir sobre la economía de Puerto Rico. Un agradecimiento especial a Miguel Soto-Class y Sergio Marxuach del Centro para una Nueva Economía por una magnífica reunión de ONG, instituciones y asociaciones influyentes. Fue genial ver a tantas mentes brillantes trabajando juntas para mejorar la economía local.

Gobernador inaugura primer proyecto de AAA completado con fondos FEMA

(lunes, 25 de abril de 2022, Humacao, Puerto Rico) – Beneficiando a más de 1,600 familias en Humacao, el gobernador de Puerto Rico, Pedro R. Pierluisi, inauguró hoy el reconstruido tanque de almacenamiento de agua potable Buena Vista, ubicado en esta misma comunidad, afectado por el huracán María. La obra es la primera de la Autoridad de Acueductos y Alcantarillados (AAA) que es completada bajo fondos otorgados por la Agencia federal para el Manejo de Emergencias (FEMA, por sus siglas en inglés), asignados tras el fenómeno atmosférico, con una inversión de $2.2 millones.

BBB Scam Alert: "Home energy auditor" promising to save you money? Be careful

Scammers inform you that you could be saving big on your energy bill. Some con artists will even insist on a tour of your home. These individuals may offer to install filters, thermostats, or other energy equipment to lower your bill, or they may say simply you are eligible to pay less. In either case, they’ll ask you to sign a contract and possibly even run a credit check. They will also ask for billing information, including your debit or credit card number.

In the end, you won't receive any discount on your energy bill or any services. The equipment you were promised won’t be delivered. That’s because this “home energy audit” is a scam. You may, however, be charged the fees mentioned in the contract, and your personal information will be in the hands of a scammer.

The Misguided Notion of Government-Set Prices for Prescription Drugs

A centerpiece of the Build Back Better Act (BBBA) as passed by the House last year was drug pricing legislation, which could be included in the next version of the BBBA, now rebranded as an inflation-control, climate, and deficit-reduction bill. While headline inflation is at an alarming rate, with the most recent 12-month reading at 8.5 percent, prescription drugs are experiencing some of the lowest levels of inflation across various goods and services.
