El pasado jueves la Camara de Comercio de Puerto Rico visitó en la montaña a MMM Holdings LLC que abrió sus puertas por primera vez para que los socios puedan conocer en primicia la nueva clínica especializada Castellana que ofrecerá servicios de medicina primaria con una inversión de $10 millones en un renovado espacio de PRIDCO en Aibonito con lo último en tecnología. Increíble evento el pasado miércoles con la Administración de Pequeñas Empresas de los Estados Unidos. Agradecemos a los oradores Mark L. Gobernador insta a familias a solicitar el crédito de miles de dólares por dependiente
El gobernador Pedro Pierlusi reiteró hoy, lunes, que más de 300,000 familias puertorriqueñas son elegibles en beneficiarse del crédito por dependinete (CTC).
“El impacto que va a tener este beneficio es grande. Queremos que todas (las familias) tengan acceso a ellos”, comentó en conferencia de prensa al resaltar que estas ayudas podrían poner fin a la pobreza infantil.

Foundation for PR lands $1M SBA grant to support 150 businesses
Foundation for Puerto Rico was awarded a $1 million grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration as part of the Community Navigators Pilot Program, through which it plans to aid 150 businesses along the island’s northern region over the next two years.
In a news conference, representatives from both entities confirmed that the grant funding, awarded to 51 applicants nationally, is part of a $100 million initiative to provide financial assistance to nonprofit organizations, state and local governments, universities, and other entities, in partnership with the SBA, to support specific sectors of the business community as they assist in the economic recovery process.

Last week, I traveled to Germany to attend the 58th Munich Security Conference, a gathering of leading experts on global security, health, development, and international relations. After learning from and working with so many of them virtually for two years, I was eager to hear from heads of state and global health leaders—in person at last!—about the ongoing impact of COVID-19 on their countries, the infectious disease and inequity challenges they’re still contending with, and what we need to be doing now to prevent future pandemics.

One of the greatest challenges of lawmaking is recognizing when a beautiful theory must succumb to an ugly fact. The purity of conceptual policymaking must take the real world into account and acknowledge that things that work well “in theory” sometimes fail spectacularly to meet expectations “in practice.”
It would be wonderful if a policy met its intended goals 100 percent of the time and there were never any unintended consequences. Unfortunately, we live in a reality where complex tax policies that work well “in theory” can have a very hard time when the rubber meets the road.
