Iniciación de Capítulos Universitarios

El pasado viernes 8 de abril los Capítulos Universitarios de la Cámara de Comercio de Puerto Rico (CUCCPR), presidido por Juanita Polanco, celebraron con gran éxito su primera Iniciación de Socios 2021-2022 en el Restaurante Antonio. La actividad contó con la presencia de nuestro Presidente Luis A. Gierbolini, la directora ejecutiva la Lcda. Liza M. Garcia y la tercera vicepresidenta de la Junta Directiva y mentora de los CUCCPR la Dra. Jeannette Vazquez. Además, como invitados especiales estuvieron presentes la Ing. Eileen M. Velez Vega, Secretaria de DTOP y el Sr. Josué E. Rivera, Director de Distrito de Puerto Rico y las Islas Vírgenes del SBA, quienes compartieron sus historias de éxitos y mejores consejos al grupo de jóvenes estudiantes iniciados esa noche.

Cóctel de Bienvenida

El pasado jueves 7 de abril el Presidente Luis A. Gierbolini, junto a varios miembros de la Junta Directiva, Expresidentes y la RED, participaron de un cóctel de bienvenida con el nuevo gerente general del Royal Sonesta San Juan en Isla Verde, el veterano hotelero Raúl Bustamante. Le auguramos mucho éxito en esta nueva encomienda. Excelente hotel y sobre todo servicio de primera. ¡Enhorabuena!

Gobernador Pierluisi destaca oportunidades de negocios en Puerto Rico durante Encuentro Empresarial en Madrid

6 de abril de 2022- Ante empresarios españoles que se dieron cita al Encuentro Empresarial España-Puerto Rico, el gobernador, Pedro R. Pierluisi, junto a otros funcionarios del Gobierno de Puerto Rico, presentó hoy las perspectivas favorables para hacer negocios en Isla y las nuevas oportunidades económicas tras finalizar el proceso de quiebra para Puerto Rico.

Posposición de la fecha límite del 18 de abril de 2022

Departamento determina extender la fecha límite para radicar las Planillas que se mencionan a continuación, sin necesidad de radicar una solicitud de prórroga automática. De igual forma, se extiende el pago de la contribución correspondiente y el primer plazo de contribución estimada que tengan que efectuarse no más tarde de las fechas límites establecidas en esta Determinación Administrativa.

We are proud to have the largest class of interns we have had since our establishment 10 years ago. A group made up of 12 young students committed to their training and our mission of transforming Puerto Rico's economy into a thriving and sustainable one. 

We thank this group of young students and professionals, as well as their educational institutions, for allowing us to be part of their growth and for supporting our mission of creating a better Puerto Rico for us all. Give Your Community a Boost: Combatting Misinformation Through Communication and Research

April is National Minority Health Month, and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services selected “Give Your Community a Boost” as this year’s theme. Over the last two years, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has worked and continues working tirelessly with our U.S. government partners, medical product manufacturers, international partners, and additional stakeholders to meet the challenges of COVID-19. Although the pandemic continues, significant strides have been made in efforts to protect the health of Americans. The FDA authorized and approved vaccines, treatments, increased available testing options such as at-home tests, and provided educational resources in a variety of languages.

BBB Scam Alert: Sports handicapper promising you guaranteed wins? Don’t bet on it

You come across a social media post or get an email about an experienced handicapper with a record of picking consistent wins. This handicapper is allegedly using insider information to place sure-thing bets on upcoming games. For a fee, you can get in on it too. This person is so confident about their information that they even offer you a money-back guarantee. For example, they may promise you free picks if you make a losing wager.

While it sounds like a safe bet, you’re really dealing with a scammer. These “scandicappers” had no intention of ever providing a refund or free picks. And their “insider information” is fake, too.

The U.S. & European stock markets closed the session with mixed results; however, U.S. markets closed higher as the U.S. economy proved to be more robust than expected. Today the Department of Labor reported that Initial unemployment claims had reached their lowest level since November 1968, falling to 166,000 or 17% less than the consensus estimates of 200,000 and -2.92% less than last week.
