CHURCH FAMILY PICNIC! Save the date – July 20 after the service!
We’ve all been wanting some church social events. After the service on July 20th, let’s celebrate the end of VBS, the beginning of summer, and our wonderful PoP family!
Games, food, a time to enjoy!
Looking for some fun people to help plan our picnic. We will need help with the BBQ, games for all ages, activities, etc.
If you’d like to help in the planning of this event, please contact Bill Prescott (bprescott60@yahoo.com) or Becky Wray (bbaileywray@aol.com).

SPACE PLANNING: With the Food Pantry’s move into the new building, we are in a planning process to envision future use of spaces that have opened up. If you have ideas about how we might best use newly available space, or your ministry is in need of a room, desk space, or storage, please let us know. You may send an email with as much detail as possible to Father Brian (briantucker@popwh.org), Bill Prescott (bprescott60@yahoo.com), or Dave Dumas (office@popwh.org). Thank you!
| PARISH PROFILE UPDATE: Thanks to the many, many people who contributed, the first draft of the POP Parish Profile is complete. This week the draft was given to four parishioners to read for content and to identify grammatical errors. Also, two different parishioners who have expertise in graphic design are reviewing the document’s visual appeal. Once their feedback is complete, we will adjust the Profile as needed. The goal is for the Vestry to have the Profile at their July meeting. Appreciatively, Patty Papps | |
God of life and love,
Thank you for your grace to us.
And for the Church and its leadership.
May I be faithful within my church.
May I live and speak the Good News of Jesus’ reign here and now.
May I help in teaching, baptizing, and nurturing Your people.
May I love others as I am loved.
May I stand with You, for justice, mercy and peace for all.
May I appreciate and respect the Father’s creation,
And the renewal of all things that the Spirit brings.

At that time, an order will be placed and prepaid-for-books will be available to those who purchased this wonderful record of her work and those who donated to "make it so." This is a fundraiser for Prince of Peace. The cost of the books (with our 40 percent off coupon!) is $70. July 13th is fast upon us! It is the final date to order this book! | | This week's featured picture is the music window in the Reasoner Family Center. KATHIE CLARK SCHOLARSHIP, 2025: The Prince of Peace Episcopal Church Women (ECW) are very pleased to announce the 2025 recipient of the Kathie Clark Scholarship is SOFIA CASPINO, who recently graduated from Granada Hills Charter High School.
Sofia first came to POP as a toddler, with her brother David, enjoying pre-school with Mike and Margie Pavlowsky, then continued through the Youth Group program. For several years, Sofia was an Acolyte which, in her own words, “brought her closer to God and at the same time allowed her to serve the POP congregation.” More recently, Sofia has been assisting with Vacation Bible School as a Youth Leader and has enjoyed sharing her talents in giving back to the younger children.
Having taken AP classes during high school, Sofia’s passion is in mathematics. With her 3.97 GPA, she would like to pursue college studies in math with a future career following in her uncle’s footsteps as an architectural/civil engineer. Currently waitlisted as an incoming freshman at CALPOLY San Luis Obispo, Sophia will, as an alternative, attend Pierce College for a year before transferring.
Please join us during the 9am service on Sunday, July 20, as we congratulate and present Sophia with her scholarship and check for $1,500.00. Your Prince of Peace family wish you every success in all you do, Sofia – with God’s blessing, love, and grace.
