LENTEN OUTREACH
The Prince of Peace Outreach Committee has selected the Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem as the recipient of our 2026 Lenten offering. The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem operates several schools and other health facilities, including the the Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza City. For decades, this hospital has provided essential medical services to its community and is now one of the few fully operational hospitals left to serve the entire population. Nearly 99% of Gaza’s population now lives in poverty and cannot afford medical care. Your belief in healthcare as a human right enables Ahli to continue offering services without cost, ensuring that financial hardship does not determine who receives treatment and who goes without. For more information please visit afedj.org.

Jesus, you revealed yourself to the world
so that all people might look to you and be saved.
May we know the wholeness that you bring.
Be our light in the darkness that we may not stumble,
and lift us up again if we fall.
All this we ask in your name.
Amen.

ASH WEDNESDAY, February 18 Can you believe it!? Lent is almost upon us. And, yes, we will have our traditional Ash Wednesday services here at the church, with services at 8:00 AM, 12:00 noon, and 7:00 PM.
BUT we also take the ashes out to the people in our community – people who may not have the time or the resources to make a trip to church.
For the past 15 years we have taken ashes out to the people with Ashes To Go, a ministry to impose ashes on the foreheads of hundreds of people on Ash Wednesday, from 8 AM to 6 PM at the northeast corner of Topanga Canyon and Ventura Boulevards. With teams of 2 to 3 parishioners on two-hour shifts, we have typically imposed ashes on over 600 foreheads on Ash Wednesday. People are absolutely amazed that the church would take the time and the trouble to perform such a service – such a service of love and devotion.
If you would like to participate in this ministry, please contact Deacon George either on the patio after service, or by email at praywithoutwalls@gmail.com, or on his cell phone at
(818) 235-7950.
“Strengthen for service, Lord, the hands that holy things have taken.

ALL are welcome, in addition to special needs individuals and families.

CHILDREN AND FAMILIES MINISTRY:
GROWING TOGETHER
Last Sunday, families joyfully gathered for another Family Sunday. During these gatherings, families create scrapbook pages together, practice spiritual disciplines such as the Examen, and spend unhurried time with one another. Sharing lunch has become a meaningful part of our time together, offering space to slow down, build relationships, and enjoy fellowship as a church family.

A special thank you to Joan Floyd, who has graciously guided families in learning the Examen and prepared thoughtful, engaging scrapbooking lessons and materials.

We are also deeply grateful to the Gandomi Family for generously hosting lunch last Sunday. The delicious chicken kabob, saffron rice, and salad were a beautiful gift of hospitality that made the day even more special.

Thank you to all the families who continue to show up, create, pray, and grow together. We look forward to the many ways God will continue to shape these moments into lasting memories.

Our Vision: To create joyful, intergenerational opportunities where families feel invited, known, and loved—and where children learn to know God, share His love, and participate in His plans for their lives.
God bless you and all the children Jesus entrusted in our care!
Blessings,
Alma Fountain
Prince of Peace Children and Family Ministry is dedicated to be a safe place to GROW in faith, have fun in fellowship, live the Word and share God’s love.

MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL YOUTH GROUP

Classes are held on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month at 10:00 AM in the Youth Room.

RECTOR SEARCH COMMITTEE
We have finally been given permission to start forming our search committee to look for our next rector. Anyone who is interested in being part of this committee, or would like more information, please contact me. We will have no more than 7 people on this committee. We want to make sure we have a good cross section of the people in our parish. Time will be involved. The committee will meet with the diocese, have meetings with candidates, view livestream services from their parishes, set up meetings here at Prince of Peace, and so on. This committee does not choose the candidates. The committee interviews the candidates chosen by the diocese, narrows down the list, and presents the finalists to the vestry. The vestry will have the responsibility of choosing our next rector.
