Texas Democratic Party State Convention
The 2026 Convention took place in Corpus Christi on June 25–27, 2026. The three-day event featured thousands of delegates, grassroots activists, and national leaders gathering to build momentum for the November general elections. Kendall Scudder was reelected as Texas Democratic Party Chairman and the Texas Democratic Party Platform for 2026-2028 was approved.

Results - MCDPTX County Executive Meeting
Election of Party Officer Positions - June 18, 2026
Natalie King, elected to her second two year term as MCDPTX County Chair, was sworn into office.
Precinct Chairs, elected during the primary, and Precinct Chairs and Precinct Cap appointed were sworn into office for a two year term.
Nominations and election of party officer positions followed, with these results:
Deputy Chair — Julie Akin
Secretary — Ragan Rhodes
Treasurer — Sean Brown
Sergeant at Arms — Martha Macris
Congratulations to our new party officers! They are ready to bring new energy and ideas for this midterm election.

No Child in Texas Should Go to Bed Hungry
Next year the State will have to contribute more to keep SNAP at the same level it is now. The initiative. “Feed the Hungry” is working to collect signatures of 20,000 people, expressing support for the State to fully fund SNAP.

Public Schools Deserve Investment, not More Pressure
Many voucher recipients were never in public schools to begin with. State data show that roughly half of the first students receiving vouchers were already attending private schools or being homeschooled before the program started.
Gina Hinojosa believes Texas should invest in public schools, teachers, and students, not divert taxpayer dollars to private school vouchers.
Trump Says He Loves Inflation. Texans Don’t
As inflation climbed to 4.2%, the highest level in three years, Donald Trump responded by saying, "I love the inflation."
And while Republicans focus on culture wars and blindly follow Donald Trump's lead, James Talarico is focused on lowering the costs Texans face every day: from healthcare and housing to energy and groceries.
