Thank you, Pastor David!

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Pastor David for his faithful service as our Bridge Pastor. During this important time of transition, he has generously shared his wealth of knowledge, wisdom, and pastoral experience, providing guidance, encouragement, and stability as we prepared to welcome our settled pastor.

Pastor David's kind, compassionate, and caring nature has made him a joy to work with. He has consistently gone above and beyond our expectations, offering his time, support, and leadership whenever needed. His dedication to our congregation and his willingness to serve have been a true blessing, and we are deeply grateful for the positive impact he has had on our church family.

As Pastor David concludes his ministry with us, we also want to wish him all the best with his upcoming shoulder surgery. We pray for a successful procedure and a smooth recovery. We hope he knows that he will always be warmly welcomed here and will forever remain a valued part of our church community.

To honor Pastor David and thank him for his service, we will be hosting a Coffee Chat following the worship service on October 25. We invite everyone to join us as we celebrate his ministry, share our appreciation, and say goodbye.

A card will be available for everyone to sign at the Coffee Chat. In addition, during the service celebration time, we encourage you to write a “Thinking of You” card with your personal messages, well wishes, and prayers for Pastor David as he begins this next chapter and recovers from surgery.

Please join us as we thank Pastor David for his faithful service and wish him blessings for the future.

What Is Media Literacy, and Why Does It Matter

Media literacy is the ability to think critically about the information we encounter every day, from social media posts and news articles to TV shows, books, music, and even AI-generated content. It encourages us to look beyond the surface, recognize biases, consider different perspectives, and ask questions like, “Why is this being shared?” and “What is this trying to convince me of?”

Media literacy isn’t about telling us what to think or believe; it’s about staying curious, being open to new ideas, and understanding that it’s okay to change our minds as we learn. By practicing media literacy, we can become more informed, empathetic, and responsible members of our communities. After all, not everything we see or hear tells the whole story—even the information in this newsletter! So, the next time something catches your attention, take a moment to ask why, look a little deeper, and consider the bigger picture.

NAMI Walks Update

Thanks in large part to your generosity, our W.I.S.E. Walkers team raised $4,399.05 for NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Health) making us the 4th highest fundraising team out of 83 teams! Your continuing support of our team’s mission to reduce the stigma associated with mental health issues and provide educational resources is greatly appreciated.
