Theme For Lent

FULL TO THE BRIM

What do you think of when you hear the phrase, "Full to the Brim"? Do you remember filling your glass with milk and it almost spills over? When you are handed a glass of wine, is it half full or half empty? The theme "Full to the Brim" asserts that love and grace are abundant and our cups for life are overflowing. Full to the brim describes what happens most of the time when my grandchildren pour a glass of orange juice. It may also describe an orientation toward life. "Full to the Brim" is a spirituality and an invitation.

This email is your guide through what remains of the season of Lent and Easter Sunday.

March 17 - March 31

(This email includes Holy Week and Easter Sunday activities.)

March 17th is the 5th Sunday in Lent

The artwork captures the moment of love and devotion when Mary Magdalene washes the feet of Jesus with her tears and perfume. When someone experiences such love and forgiveness they are compelled to reciprocate. All of us crave such a transforming experience of grace and acceptance that we are moved and empowered to wash feet.

He action was certainly brazen even though others tried to shame her and Jesus. It was a brazen act of beauty.

March 24th is Palm Sunday

The idea in the artwork is that if the people do not shout "Hosanna!", then the stones would cry out. Imagine such an important presence of Life and Love that it cannot be contained. Even the stones cry out as an expression of all of Creation proclaims it.

We are fortunate to have St. Teresa's Ecumenical Catholic Community worshipping under our Shadow Rock roof. They bring an intentionality to the liturgical calendar and sense of formal worship which compliments our less formal style. They will be observing Holy Week with Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and Saturday Easter Vigil. See more information below. They invite you, welcome you, and would feel blessed to have you join them.
