Lakewood Residents,

Before I get into the newsletter, I want to let everyone know that we at City Hall share your frustration and anger over the persistent power outages that our city has faced. We are taking action to push First Energy to solve this problem.

I teamed up with Cleveland Council Members Brian Kazy and Charles Slife to issue a letter to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) demanding that, as the state agency with sole authority over utilities, they investigate First Energy and force them to permanently fix the power issues.

I want to thank all of you for persevering through the difficulties that the outages have caused. Please know that I, as well as our staff here at City Hall, will continue to do what we can for as long as it takes to resolve these issues.

We're gearing up for another fun-filled month, led by the best Fourth of July celebration around! I can't wait to see everyone lined up on Lake Avenue for the parade, and then at Lakewood Park for all the festivities and fireworks to follow. Please enjoy the holiday and keep safety in mind.

Finally, City Council kicked off their Community Conversation event series on June 24, and there are three other opportunities on the calendar to meet with your Lakewood Council Members to ask questions and discuss city issues.
