US Blue Hydrogen Gains Momentum After 45V Policy Shift

More than 75% of US green hydrogen projects are unlikely to qualify for the shortened 45V tax credit, with blue hydrogen “significantly more bankable,” according to Wood Mackenzie. The consultancy said that President Donald Trump’s “One Big, Beautiful Bill” looked set to curb investment in some clean energy technologies.

Dutch-based Battolyser Systems and VDL Hydrogen Systems merge to build the first flexible electrolyser for industrial use

Two Dutch companies, Schiedam-based Battolyser Systems and Eindhoven’s VDL Hydrogen Systems – part of VDL Groep – have agreed to merge into a single company. The partnership will offer a fully flexible pressurised alkaline electrolyser tailored for large-scale industrial applications.

Germany Launches €2.5B H2Global Auction to Secure Global Green Hydrogen Supply

Germany is back with another big push for green hydrogen—this time rolling out the second €2.5 billion H2Global auction through its public agency Hintco. What’s the goal? To secure long-term supplies of renewable hydrogen, ammonia, and methanol from outside the EU and start bringing them into the German market. The auction splits the global sourcing strategy into regions think Africa, Asia, North and South America, and Oceania, with each of them getting a chunk of at least €484 million in funding.

Canada Awards $4.5M to Salish Elements for Indigenous-Led Hydrogen Project

Salish Elements was awarded $4.5 million from Natural Resources Canada (NRCAN) through the Indigenous-led building new domestic production capacity stream of the Clean Fuels Fund. The funds will be allocated to complete the front-end engineering and design of a 25 MW green hydrogen production utility.

STL Commissions Maharashtra’s First Green Hydrogen Plant For Optical Fibre Manufacturing

STL (Sterlite Technologies), a global provider of optical and digital infrastructure solutions, has announced the successful commissioning of Maharashtra’s first green hydrogen and green oxygen facility dedicated to optical fibre manufacturing. Developed in partnership with Hygenco Green Energies, the plant will supply clean fuel to STL’s semiconductor-grade glass preform facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar.

Europe’s first runway‑launched hydrogen hypersonic jet aims to fly at Mach 5

ESA has started the program in partnership with UK-based engineering and technology company Frazer-Nash.


The ESA has partnered with the United Kingdom-based engineering and technology company Frazer-Nash for the Invictus research program. Invictus will be a fully reusable experimental vehicle capable of flying at hypersonic speeds of Mach 5 or 3836 miles per hour.

Hydrogen cars now beat EVs with the lowest life-cycle emissions of all, says ICCT

IT’s official. Hydrogen cars are now the cleanest on the road. According to the latest EU-wide analysis, fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) powered by renewable hydrogen produce lower life-cycle emissions than any other powertrain, even battery electric.


That’s assuming both are powered by renewable energy. But the difference is, hydrogen is getting there faster than you think.

Kansai Airports Launches Japan’s First Hydrogen Tourism Bus

Kansai Airports has unveiled its latest clean mobility initiative with the launch of a hydrogen-powered fuel cell (FC) minibus, jointly developed with Kishiwada Kanko Bus Co. Ltd. This marks the second FC bus to operate at Kansai International Airport (KIX), following the deployment of the "SORA" inter-terminal shuttle in 2022.


However, the newly launched vehicle is a first-of-its-kind for the Kansai region, capable of operating on expressways and specifically designed for tourism.

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) today announced $3.7 million is now available to support clean hydrogen-based fuel cell resources in New York. Today’s announcement will advance the development and demonstration of innovative fuel cell technologies as a potential dispatchable solution to maintain grid reliability and resilience and decarbonize industrial processes while integrating increasing amounts of renewable energy like wind and solar.

South Korea Pledges $3.1B for Green Energy Projects in Kazakhstan

South Korea’s YPP Corporation has announced plans to invest up to $3.1 billion in a major green hydrogen and ammonia production facility in Kazakhstan, following the signing of a framework agreement with Kazakh Invest, the country’s national investment promotion agency.


The agreement was signed on July 15 by Azamat Kozhanov, Deputy Chairman of Kazakh Invest, and John M. Bek, Chairman of the Board at YPP Corporation (Your Permanent Partner), an engineering and energy firm based in South Korea, The Caspian Post reports, citing The Times of Central Asia.
